1
And Mosheh and the elders of Yisra’el commanded the people, saying, “Guard all the commandment that I command you today.
2
And it shall be, on the day that you cross the Yarden into the land that Yahuah your Elohim is giving you, that you shall raise up for yourself large stones and plaster them with plaster.
3
And you shall write upon them all the words of this Torah when you have crossed over, so that you may come into the land that Yahuah your Elohim is giving you, a land flowing with milk and honey, according to what Yahuah, Elohim of your fathers, spoke to you.
4
And it shall be, when you have crossed the Yarden, that you shall raise up these stones, concerning which I command you today, on Mount Eval, and you shall plaster them with plaster.
5
And there you shall build an altar to Yahuah your Elohim, an altar of stones. You shall not lift up iron upon them.
6
Whole stones you shall build the altar of Yahuah your Elohim, and you shall cause ascending offerings to go up upon it to Yahuah your Elohim.
7
And you shall sacrifice peace offerings and eat there, and you shall rejoice before Yahuah your Elohim.
8
And you shall write upon the stones all the words of this Torah, making them very plain.”
9
And Mosheh and the kohenim, the Leviim, spoke to all Yisra’el, saying, “Be silent and hear, Yisra’el. This day you have become the people of Yahuah your Elohim.
10
And you shall listen to the voice of Yahuah your Elohim and do His commandments and His statutes that I command you today.”
11
And Mosheh commanded the people on that day, saying,
12
“These shall stand upon Mount Gerizim to bless the people when you have crossed the Yarden: Shimon, and Levi, and Yehudah, and Yissakhar, and Yosef, and Binyamin.
13
And these shall stand upon Mount Eval for the curse: Reuven, Gad, Asher, Zevulun, Dan, and Naftali.
14
And the Leviim shall answer and say to every ish of Yisra’el with a loud voice:
15
‘Cursed is the ish who makes a carved image or a cast image, an abomination to Yahuah, the work of the hands of a craftsman, and places it in secret.’ And all the people shall answer and say, ‘Amen.’
16
‘Cursed is the one who dishonors his father or his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
17
‘Cursed is the one who moves the boundary of his neighbor.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
18
‘Cursed is the one who causes the blind to wander from the way.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
19
‘Cursed is the one who bends the judgment of the sojourner, the fatherless, and the widow.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
20
‘Cursed is the one who lies with the ishah of his father, because he has uncovered the corner of his father.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
21
‘Cursed is the one who lies with any beast.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
22
‘Cursed is the one who lies with his sister, daughter of his father or daughter of his mother.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
23
‘Cursed is the one who lies with his mother-in-law.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
24
‘Cursed is the one who strikes his neighbor in secret.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
25
‘Cursed is the one who takes a bribe to strike a being of innocent blood.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
26
‘Cursed is the one who does not establish the words of this Torah by doing them.’ And all the people shall say, ‘Amen.’
