1
Chiram king of Tzor sent messengers to Daviyd, cedar trees, wall craftsmen, and wood craftsmen, to build him a house.
2
And Daviyd knew that Yahuah had established him as king over Yisra’el, for his Kingdom was lifted high for the sake of His people Yisra’el.
3
Daviyd took more women in Yerushalayim, and Daviyd brought forth more sons and daughters.
4
These are the names of those born to him in Yerushalayim: Shammua, Shovav, Natan, Shəlomah,
5
Yivchar, Elishua, Elpelet,
6
Nogah, Nefeg, Yafia,
7
Elishama, Beelyada, and Elifelet.
8
When the Pelishtim heard that Daviyd had been anointed king over all Yisra’el, all the Pelishtim went up to seek Daviyd. Daviyd heard and went out before them.
9
And the Pelishtim came and spread themselves through the Valley of Refaim.
10
Daviyd inquired of Elohim, saying, “Shall I go up against the Pelishtim? Will You give them into my hand?” And Yahuah said to him, “Go up, and I shall give them into your hand.”
11
They went up to Baal-Peratzim, and Daviyd struck them there. Daviyd said, “Elohim has broken through my enemies by my hand like a breach of waters.” Therefore they called the name of that place Baal-Peratzim.
12
They abandoned their elohim there, and Daviyd commanded, and they were burned with fire.
13
And the Pelishtim again spread themselves through the valley.
14
Daviyd again inquired of Elohim. Elohim said to him, “Do not go up after them. Turn around from above them and come upon them opposite the bakha trees.
15
And when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the bakha trees, then go forth in battle, for Elohim has gone forth before you to strike the camp of the Pelishtim.”
16
Daviyd did as Elohim commanded him, and they struck the camp of the Pelishtim from Givon as far as Gezer.
17
And the name of Daviyd went forth into all the lands, and Yahuah placed the fear of him upon all the nations.
