1
Remember, Yahuah, what has happened to us. Look, and see our reproach.
2
Our Inheritance has been turned over to strangers, our houses to foreigners.
3
We have become orphans, without father. Our mothers are like widows.
4
We drink our own water for silver. Our wood comes to us for a price.
5
Upon our necks we are pursued. We labor, and there is no rest for us.
6
We stretched out the hand to Mitsrayim, and to Ashshur, to be satisfied with bread.
7
Our fathers sinned and are no more, and we bear their crookedness.
8
Servants rule over us. There is none to tear us from their hand.
9
With our lives we bring in our bread because of the sword of the wilderness.
10
Our skin burns like an oven because of the raging of famine.
11
They violated women in Tziyon, maidens in the cities of Yehudah.
12
Rulers were hanged by their hands. The faces of elders were not honored.
13
Young men carried the mill, and boys stumbled under wood.
14
Elders have ceased from the gate, young men from their music.
15
The joy of our heart has ceased. Our dancing has turned into mourning.
16
The crown has fallen from our head. Woe to us, for we have sinned.
17
Because of this our heart is faint. Because of these things our eyes have grown dim.
18
Because of Mount Tziyon, which is desolate, foxes walk upon it.
19
You, Yahuah, remain forever. Your Throne is from generation to generation.
20
Why do You forget us forever? Why do You forsake us for length of days?
21
Return us to You, Yahuah, and we shall return. Renew our days as of old.
22
Unless You have utterly rejected us and are exceedingly angry with us.
