1
But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there shall also be false teachers among you, who shall secretly introduce destructive teachings, even denying the Master who purchased them, bringing upon themselves swift destruction.
2
And many shall follow their destructive ways, because of whom the way of truth shall be blasphemed.
3
And through greed, with fabricated words, they shall make merchandise of you. Their Judgment from long ago is not idle, and their destruction does not sleep.
4
For if Elohim did not spare messengers who sinned, but cast them into pits of darkness, holding them for Judgment;
5
and if He did not spare the ancient world, but preserved Noach, a herald of Righteousness, with seven others, when He brought the flood upon the world of the wicked;
6
and if He reduced the cities of Sedom and Amorah to ashes, condemning them to destruction, making them an example of what is coming upon the wicked;
7
and if He delivered righteous Lot, who was deeply distressed by the unrestrained conduct of the lawless—
8
for that righteous ish, dwelling among them, tormented his righteous being day after day by what he saw and heard of their lawless deeds—
9
then Yahuah knows how to deliver the devoted from testing, and how to keep the unrighteous under punishment until the day of Judgment,
10
especially those who walk after flesh in corrupt desire and despise authority. Bold, self-willed, they do not tremble when blaspheming glorious beings,
11
whereas messengers, though greater in strength and power, do not bring a blasphemous judgment against them before Yahuah.
12
But these, like irrational creatures, born according to nature for capture and destruction, blaspheming what they do not understand, shall also be destroyed in their own corruption,
13
receiving unrighteousness as the wages of unrighteousness. They count it pleasure to indulge themselves in broad daylight. They are stains and blemishes, rejoicing in their deceptions while feasting with you.
14
Their eyes are full of adultery and never cease from sin. They entice unstable beings. They have a heart trained in greed. Children of a curse.
15
Abandoning the straight way, they wandered, following the way of Bil’am son of Beor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness.
16
But he received rebuke for his own lawlessness: a voiceless donkey, speaking with the voice of Adam, restrained the madness of the prophet.
17
These are springs without water, and mists driven by a storm, for whom the deepest darkness has been kept.
18
For speaking swollen words of emptiness, they entice through fleshly desires, through unrestrained conduct, those barely escaping from people who live in error.
19
They promise them freedom, while they themselves are servants of corruption. For whatever overcomes an Adam, to that he is enslaved.
20
For if, after escaping the corruptions of the world through knowledge of the Master and Deliverer Yahushua the Anointed, they are again entangled in these things and overcome, their last condition has become worse than the first.
21
For it would have been better for them not to have known the way of Righteousness than, after knowing it, to turn away from the holy commandment handed over to them.
22
What the true proverb says has happened to them: “A dog returns to its own vomit,” and: “A washed sow returns to wallowing in mud.”
