1
And after the uproar ceased, Paulos called the talmidim, encouraged them, took leave, and departed to go into Macedonia.
2
And passing through those regions and encouraging them with many words, he came into Greece.
3
And after spending three months, a plot was made against him by some of the Yehudim as he was about to sail toward Syria. Therefore he decided to return through Macedonia.
4
And accompanying him were Sopatros son of Pyrrhos from Berea, Aristarchos and Secundus of Thessalonike, Gaios of Derbe, Timotheos, and Tychikos and Trophimos of Asia.
5
These went ahead and waited for us at Troas.
6
And we sailed from Philippi after the days of Unleavened Bread and came to them at Troas within five days, where we remained seven days.
7
And on the first day of the week, when we gathered to break bread, Paulos reasoned with them, intending to depart on the next day, and he prolonged the word until midnight.
8
And there were many lamps in the upper room where we were gathered.
9
And a certain young ish named Eutychos, sitting in the window, was being overcome by deep sleep as Paulos spoke for a long time. And overcome by sleep, he fell down from the third story and was taken up dead.
10
But Paulos went down, fell upon him, embraced him, and said: “Do not be troubled, for his being is in him.”
11
And going up, breaking bread and eating, he spoke for a long time until daybreak, and so departed.
12
And they brought the young ish alive and were comforted beyond measure.
13
But we, going ahead to the ship, sailed toward Assos, intending to take Paulos aboard from there, for so he had arranged, intending himself to go by land.
14
And when he met us at Assos, we took him aboard and came to Mitylene.
15
And sailing from there, we arrived the next day opposite Chios, and the following day we touched at Samos, and the day after came to Miletos.
16
For Paulos had decided to sail past Ephesos so that he might not spend time in Asia, for he was hurrying, if possible, to be in Yerushalayim on the day of Shavuot.
17
And from Miletos he sent to Ephesos and called the elders of the assembly.
18
And when they came to him, he said to them: “You know from the first day when I entered Asia, how I was with you the whole time,
19
serving the Master with all humility, and tears, and trials that came upon me through the plots of the Yehudim,
20
how I withheld nothing that was beneficial from declaring to you and teaching you publicly and from house to house,
21
testifying both to Yehudim and Greeks repentance toward Elohim and trust toward our Master Yahushua.
22
And now, see— bound in ruach, I go to Yerushalayim, not knowing the things that shall happen to me there,
23
except that Holy Ruach testifies to me in every city, saying that chains and afflictions await me.
24
But I make no account of my life as precious to myself, if only I may complete my course and the service which I received from the Master Yahushua— to testify fully to the Besorah of the grace of Elohim.
25
And now, see— I know that all of you among whom I passed proclaiming the Kingdom shall see my face no more.
26
Therefore I testify to you this day that I am clean from the blood of all,
27
for I did not hold back from declaring to you the whole counsel of Elohim.
28
Take heed to yourselves and to all the flock among whom Holy Ruach appointed you overseers, to shepherd the assembly of Elohim, which He acquired through His own blood.
29
I know that after my departure savage wolves shall enter among you, not sparing the flock.
30
And from among your own selves ishim shall rise, speaking distorted things to draw away the talmidim after themselves.
31
Therefore remain awake, remembering that for three years, night and day, I did not cease with tears warning each one.
32
And now I entrust you to Elohim and to the Word of His grace, which is able to build and give the Inheritance among all those who are set apart.
33
Silver, or gold, or clothing of no one did I desire.
34
You yourselves know that these hands served my necessities and those being with me.
35
In all things I showed you that by laboring in this way we must help the weak and remember the words of the Master Yahushua, that he himself said: ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’”
36
And having said these things, he bent his knees with all of them and prayed.
37
And there was much weeping from all, and falling upon the neck of Paulos, they kissed him,
38
grieving especially over the word which he had spoken, that they were to see his face no more. And they escorted him to the ship.
