1
And when we had torn ourselves away from them and set sail, we ran a straight course to Kos, and the next day to Rhodes, and from there to Patara.
2
And finding a ship crossing to Phoinike, we went aboard and sailed.
3
And having sighted Cyprus, leaving it on the left, we sailed toward Syria and landed at Tzor, for there the ship was unloading its cargo.
4
And finding the talmidim, we remained there seven days. And through the Ruach they were telling Paulos not to go up to Yerushalayim.
5
And when the days were completed, we departed and went our way, and all with ishahot and children escorted us until we were outside the city. And bending our knees upon the shore, we prayed.
6
And having embraced one another, we went aboard the ship, and they returned to their own.
7
And completing the voyage from Tzor, we came to Ptolemais, and greeting the brothers, we remained with them one day.
8
And on the next day, departing, we came to Caesarea, and entering the house of Philippos the proclaimer of the Besorah, who was one of the Seven, we remained with him.
9
And this one had four virgin daughters who prophesied.
10
And as we remained many days, a certain prophet named Agabos came down from Yehudah.
11
And coming to us, he took the belt of Paulos, bound his own feet and hands, and said: “Thus says Holy Ruach: ‘The ish whose belt this is, the Yehudim in Yerushalayim shall bind in this manner and hand him over into the hands of the nations.’”
12
And when we heard these things, both we and those of that place urged him not to go up to Yerushalayim.
13
Then Paulos answered: “What are you doing, weeping and breaking my heart? For I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Yerushalayim for the Name of the Master Yahushua.”
14
And when he would not be persuaded, we became quiet, saying: “Let the will of Yahuah be done.”
15
And after these days, we prepared and went up to Yerushalayim.
16
And certain of the talmidim from Caesarea also went with us, bringing us to Mnason of Cyprus, an early talmid, with whom we were to lodge.
17
And when we came to Yerushalayim, the brothers received us gladly.
18
And on the next day, Paulos went in with us to Yaaqov, and all the elders were present.
19
And greeting them, he related one by one the things Elohim had done among the nations through his service.
20
And hearing, they glorified Elohim. And they said to him: “You see, brother, how many myriads there are among the Yehudim who have trusted, and they are all zealous for the Torah.
21
And they have been told concerning you that you teach all the Yehudim among the nations to depart from Mosheh, telling them not to circumcise their children nor walk according to the customs.
22
What then is to be done? Certainly they shall hear that you have come.
23
Therefore do this which we tell you: There are with us four ishim having a vow upon themselves.
24
Take these, purify yourself with them, and bear the expense for them so that they may shave their heads, and all shall know that there is nothing in the things they have been told concerning you, but that you yourself also walk guarding the Torah.
25
But concerning those from the nations who have trusted, we sent our judgment that they should guard themselves from what is sacrificed to idols, and blood, and what is strangled, and sexual immorality.”
26
Then Paulos took the ishim, and on the next day, being purified with them, entered the House, announcing the completion of the days of purification, until the offering was presented for each one of them.
27
And when the seven days were about to be completed, some Yehudim from Asia, seeing him in the House, stirred up all the crowd and laid hands upon him,
28
crying: “Ishim of Yisra’el, help! This is the ish who teaches everyone everywhere against the people, and the Torah, and this Place. And beyond this, he even brought Greeks into the House and defiled this set-apart Place.”
29
For they had previously seen Trophimos the Ephesian in the city with him, whom they supposed Paulos had brought into the House.
30
And the whole city was stirred, and there was a rushing together of the people. And seizing Paulos, they dragged him outside the House, and immediately the gates were shut.
31
And while they were seeking to kill him, a report went up to the commander of the Roman cohort that all Yerushalayim was in confusion.
32
He immediately took soldiers and centurions and ran down upon them. And when they saw the commander and soldiers, they stopped beating Paulos.
33
Then the commander came near, seized him, and commanded that he be bound with two chains, and asked who he was and what he had done.
34
But some in the crowd cried one thing, and others another. And being unable to know the truth because of the uproar, he commanded that he be brought into the fortress.
35
And when he came upon the stairs, it happened that he was carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the crowd,
36
for the multitude of the people followed, crying: “Take him away.”
37
And as Paulos was about to be brought into the fortress, he said to the commander: “Is it permitted for me to say something to you?” And he said: “You know Greek?
38
Then you are not the Mitsrite who some time ago stirred up an insurrection and led out into the wilderness four thousand ishim of the Sicarii?”
39
But Paulos said: “I am a Yehudi ish, from Tarsos of Qilikia, a citizen of no insignificant city. I ask you, permit me to speak to the people.”
40
And when he permitted him, Paulos, standing upon the stairs, motioned with the hand to the people. And when a great silence came, he addressed them in the Ivrit tongue, saying:
