1
And King Shəlomah was king over all Yisra’el.
2
And these were the officials who belonged to him: Azaryahu son of Tzadoq, the kohen;
3
Elichoref and Achiyah, sons of Shisha, scribes; Yehoshafat son of Achilud, recorder;
4
and Benayahu son of Yehoyada was over the host; and Tzadoq and Evyatar were kohenim;
5
and Azaryahu son of Natan was over the appointed officers; and Zavud son of Natan, a kohen, was companion of the king;
6
and Achishar was over the House; and Adoniram son of Avda was over the forced labor.
7
And Shəlomah had twelve appointed officers over all Yisra’el, and they sustained the king and his House. Each ish was responsible for sustaining him one month in the year.
8
And these are their names: Ben-Chur, in the hill country of Efrayim;
9
Ben-Deqer, in Maqatz, and Shaalvim, and Beit-Shemesh, and Elon-Beit-Chanan;
10
Ben-Chesed, in Arubbot; Sokhoh and all the land of Chefer belonged to him;
11
Ben-Avinadav, in all the height of Dor; Tafat daughter of Shəlomah was his ishah;
12
Baanah son of Achilud, in Taanakh and Megiddo, and all Beit-Shean, which is beside Tzaretan, beneath Yizre’el, from Beit-Shean to Avel-Mecholah, as far as beyond Yoqmeam;
13
Ben-Gever, in Ramot-Gilad; to him belonged the villages of Yair son of Menasheh, which are in Gilad; to him belonged the region of Argov, which is in Bashan, sixty great cities with walls and bronze bars;
14
Achinadav son of Iddo, in Machanayim;
15
Achimaatz, in Naftali; he also took Basemat daughter of Shəlomah as ishah;
16
Baanah son of Chushai, in Asher and Bealot;
17
Yehoshafat son of Paruach, in Yissakhar;
18
Shimi son of Ela, in Binyamin;
19
Gever son of Uri, in the land of Gilad, the land of Sichon king of the Emori and of Og king of Bashan. And there was one appointed officer over the land.
20
Yehudah and Yisra’el were many, as the sand that is beside the sea for multitude, eating and drinking and rejoicing.
21
And Shəlomah ruled over all the Kingdoms, from the River to the land of the Pelishtim and as far as the border of Mitzrayim. They brought tribute and served Shəlomah all the days of his life.
22
And the provision of Shəlomah for one day was thirty kor of fine flour and sixty kor of meal,
23
ten fattened oxen and twenty oxen from the pasture, and one hundred sheep, besides deer, gazelles, roebucks, and fattened fowl.
24
For he ruled over all beyond the River, from Tifsach even to Azzah, over all the kings beyond the River. And he had shalom on every side, all around him.
25
And Yehudah and Yisra’el dwelt securely, each ish beneath his vine and beneath his fig tree, from Dan even to Be’er-Sheva, all the days of Shəlomah.
26
And Shəlomah had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
27
And those appointed officers sustained King Shəlomah and all who drew near to the table of King Shəlomah, each ish in his month. They allowed nothing to be lacking.
28
And the barley and the straw for the horses and for the swift steeds they brought to the place where it was required, each ish according to his charge.
29
And Elohim gave Shəlomah Wisdom, and exceedingly great understanding, and breadth of heart like the sand that is upon the seashore.
30
And the Wisdom of Shəlomah was greater than the wisdom of all the sons of the East and than all the wisdom of Mitzrayim.
31
And he was wiser than every Adam: than Eitan the Ezraki, and Heman, and Kalkol, and Darda, sons of Machol. And his Name was among all the nations all around.
32
And he spoke three thousand proverbs, and his songs were one thousand and five.
33
And he spoke concerning the trees, from the cedar that is in Levanon even to the hyssop that comes out from the wall. And he spoke concerning the beasts, and concerning the birds, and concerning the creeping things, and concerning the fish.
34
And they came from all the peoples to hear the Wisdom of Shəlomah, from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.
