1
And it came to pass, when Shəlomah had finished building the House of Yahuah, and the House of the king, and all the desire of Shəlomah that he delighted to do,
2
that Yahuah appeared to Shəlomah a second time, as He had appeared to him at Givon.
3
And Yahuah said to him: “I have heard your prayer and your supplication that you made before My face. I have set apart this House that you have built, to place My Name there forever. And My eyes and My heart shall be there all the days.
4
And you, if you walk before My face as Daviyd your father walked, in wholeness of heart and in uprightness, to do according to all that I commanded you, and guard My statutes and My Judgments,
5
then I will establish the Throne of your Kingdom over Yisra’el forever, according to what I spoke to Daviyd your father, saying: ‘There shall not be cut off from you an ish from upon the Throne of Yisra’el.’
6
But if turning, you or your sons surely turn away from after Me, and do not guard My commandments and My statutes that I have set before your face, and you go and serve other elohim and bow yourselves to them,
7
then I will cut off Yisra’el from upon the face of the land that I gave them. And the House that I set apart for My Name I will cast away from before My face. And Yisra’el shall become a proverb and a taunt among all the peoples.
8
And this House, being exalted, everyone passing by it shall be astonished and hiss, and they shall say: ‘Why has Yahuah done thus to this land and to this House?’
9
And they shall say: ‘Because they forsook Yahuah their Elohim, who brought their fathers out from the land of Mitzrayim, and they took hold of other elohim, and bowed themselves to them and served them. Therefore Yahuah brought upon them all this evil.’”
10
And it came to pass at the end of twenty years, in which Shəlomah had built the two houses—the House of Yahuah and the house of the king—
11
and Chiram king of Tzor had supplied Shəlomah with cedar timber and cypress timber, and with gold, according to all his desire, that then King Shəlomah gave Chiram twenty cities in the land of Galil.
12
And Chiram came out from Tzor to see the cities that Shəlomah had given him, but they were not right in his eyes.
13
And he said: “What are these cities that you have given me, my brother?” And he called them the land of Kavul, to this day.
14
And Chiram sent to the king one hundred twenty talents of gold.
15
And this is the matter of the forced labor that King Shəlomah raised: to build the House of Yahuah, and his own house, and the Millo, and the wall of Yerushalayim, and Chatzor, and Megiddo, and Gezer.
16
Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim had gone up and captured Gezer and burned it with fire, and he put to death the Kena’ani who dwelt in the city, and gave it as a sending-gift to his daughter, ishah of Shəlomah.
17
And Shəlomah rebuilt Gezer, and Lower Beit-Choron,
18
and Baalat, and Tadmor in the wilderness, in the land,
19
and all the storage cities that belonged to Shəlomah, and the cities for the chariots, and the cities for the horsemen, and all the desire of Shəlomah that he desired to build in Yerushalayim, and in Levanon, and in all the land of his dominion.
20
All the people remaining from the Emori, the Chitti, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, who were not from the sons of Yisra’el—
21
their sons who remained after them in the land, whom the sons of Yisra’el had not been able to devote to destruction—upon them Shəlomah raised a levy of forced labor, to this day.
22
But from the sons of Yisra’el Shəlomah did not make servants. For they were men of war, and his servants, and his commanders, and his captains, and commanders of his chariots and his horsemen.
23
These were the chiefs of the appointed officers who were over the work of Shəlomah: five hundred fifty, who ruled over the people doing the work.
24
But the daughter of Pharaoh went up from the City of Daviyd to her house that Shəlomah had built for her. Then he built the Millo.
25
And three times in the year Shəlomah caused ascending offerings and peace offerings to go up upon the altar that he had built to Yahuah, and he burned incense with them upon the altar that was before Yahuah. And he completed the House.
26
And King Shəlomah made a fleet of ships at Etzyon-Gever, which is beside Elot, upon the shore of the Sea of Reeds, in the land of Edom.
27
And Chiram sent in the fleet his servants, men of ships who knew the sea, with the servants of Shəlomah.
28
And they came to Ofir and took from there four hundred twenty talents of gold, and brought it to King Shəlomah.
