1
Does not wisdom call, and understanding give her voice?
2
At the head of the heights, beside the way, at the meeting place of the paths, she stands.
3
Beside the gates, at the mouth of the city, at the entrance of the doors, she cries aloud:
4
“To you, men, I call, and my voice is to the sons of Adam.
5
Understand prudence, simple ones, and fools, understand heart.
6
Hear, for I will speak noble things, and the opening of my lips shall be uprightness.
7
For my mouth shall speak truth, and wickedness is an abomination to my lips.
8
All the words of my mouth are in Righteousness. There is nothing twisted or crooked in them.
9
All of them are plain to the one who understands, and straight to those who find knowledge.
10
Receive my discipline and not silver, and knowledge rather than choice gold.
11
For wisdom is better than jewels, and all desirable things cannot compare with her.
12
I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I find knowledge of discretion.
13
The fear of Yahuah is to hate evil. Pride, and arrogance, and the evil way, and the twisted mouth, I hate.
14
Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom. I am understanding. Strength is mine.
15
By me kings reign, and rulers decree Righteousness.
16
By me rulers rule, and nobles, all judges of the earth.
17
I love those who love me, and those who seek me early shall find me.
18
Riches and honor are with me, enduring wealth and Righteousness.
19
My fruit is better than gold, yes, than fine gold, and my produce than choice silver.
20
I walk in the path of Righteousness, in the midst of the paths of Judgment,
21
to cause those who love me to inherit substance, and I fill their treasuries.
22
Yahuah possessed me at the beginning of His way, before His works of ancient times.
23
From eternity I was established, from the beginning, from before the earth.
24
When there were no depths, I was brought forth, when there were no fountains abounding with waters.
25
Before the mountains were settled, before the hills, I was brought forth,
26
while He had not yet made the earth and the fields, nor the first dust of the world.
27
When He established the heavens, I was there. When He inscribed a circle upon the face of the deep,
28
when He strengthened the clouds above, when He made firm the fountains of the deep,
29
when He set for the sea its boundary, so that the waters would not transgress His mouth, when He inscribed the foundations of the earth,
30
then I was beside Him, as a master craftsman. And I was His delight day by day, rejoicing before His face at all times,
31
rejoicing in the inhabited world of His earth, and my delight was with the sons of Adam.
32
And now, sons, hear me. Blessed are those who guard my ways.
33
Hear discipline and become wise, and do not neglect it.
34
Blessed is the Adam who hears me, watching daily at my doors, guarding at the posts of my entrances.
35
For whoever finds me finds life and obtains favor from Yahuah.
36
But the one who sins against me does violence to his own being. All who hate me love death.
