1
Now I myself, Paulos, urge you through the gentleness and reasonableness of the Anointed— I who, when face to face, am humble among you, but when absent, am bold toward you.
2
But I ask that when present I may not need to be bold with the confidence with which I reckon to dare against some who reckon us as walking according to flesh.
3
For though we walk in flesh, we do not wage war according to flesh.
4
For the weapons of our warfare are not fleshly, but powerful through Elohim for tearing down strongholds,
5
tearing down reasonings and every high thing raising itself against the knowledge of Elohim, and taking captive every thought into obedience of the Anointed,
6
and being ready to correct every disobedience whenever your obedience is completed.
7
You look at what is before the face. If anyone is confident in himself that he belongs to the Anointed, let him reckon this again from himself: that just as he belongs to the Anointed, so also do we.
8
For even if I boast somewhat more concerning our authority, which the Master gave for building you and not for tearing you down, I shall not be put to shame.
9
I do not desire to appear as though I am terrifying you through the letters.
10
For they say: “His letters are weighty and strong, but his bodily presence is weak, and his speech despised.”
11
Let such a one reckon this: that what we are in word through letters when absent, such we shall also be in deed when present.
12
For we do not dare to classify ourselves or compare ourselves with some who recommend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves and comparing themselves with themselves, do not understand.
13
But we shall not boast beyond measure, but according to the measure of the boundary which Elohim distributed to us— a measure reaching even to you.
14
For we are not overextending ourselves as though we had not reached to you, for we came even as far as you in the Besorah of the Anointed.
15
Not boasting beyond measure in the labors of others, but having hope that as your trust increases, we shall be enlarged among you according to our boundary to abundance,
16
so that we may proclaim the Besorah in the regions beyond you, not boasting in what is ready within another’s boundary.
17
But: “Let the one who boasts boast in Yahuah.”
18
For not the one who recommends himself is approved, but the one whom Yahuah recommends.
