1
Hear this word, you cows of Bashan, who are on the mountain of Shomron, who oppress the poor, who crush the needy, who say to your masters: “Bring, that we may drink.”
2
Adonai Yahuah has sworn by His holiness: “See, days are coming upon you when they shall take you away with hooks, and your remnant with fishhooks.
3
And through breaches you shall go out, each ish straight before her, and you shall be cast out toward Harmon,” declares Yahuah.
4
“Come to Beit-El and transgress. At Gilgal multiply transgression. Bring your sacrifices in the morning, your tithes every third day.
5
And burn a thanksgiving offering from what is leavened, and proclaim voluntary offerings; make them known, for this you love, sons of Yisra’el,” declares Adonai Yahuah.
6
“And I also gave you cleanness of teeth in all your cities, and lack of bread in all your places, yet you did not return to Me,” declares Yahuah.
7
“And I also withheld the rain from you when there were still three months to the harvest. And I caused it to rain upon one city, and upon another city I did not cause it to rain. One portion was rained upon, and the portion upon which it did not rain dried up.
8
And two or three cities wandered to one city to drink water, but were not satisfied. Yet you did not return to Me,” declares Yahuah.
9
“I struck you with blight and with mildew. The multitude of your gardens and your vineyards, and your fig trees and your olive trees, the consuming locust ate. Yet you did not return to Me,” declares Yahuah.
10
“I sent among you pestilence after the manner of Mitzrayim. I killed your young men with the sword, and carried away your horses. And I caused the stench of your camp to rise into your nostrils. Yet you did not return to Me,” declares Yahuah.
11
“I overthrew among you as Elohim overthrew Sedom and Amorah, and you became like a firebrand snatched from the burning. Yet you did not return to Me,” declares Yahuah.
12
“Therefore thus I will do to you, Yisra’el. Because I will do this to you, prepare to meet your Elohim, Yisra’el.”
13
For see, He who forms the mountains and creates ruach, and declares to Adam what his thought is, who makes dawn into darkness, and treads upon the high places of the earth— Yahuah, Elohim of Hosts, is His Name.
