1
In three things I was made beautiful and stood beautiful before Yahuah and Adam: agreement among brothers, companionship among neighbors, and an ishah and an ish walking together in unity.
2
Three kinds my being hates, and I am greatly provoked by their life: a proud poor man, a lying wealthy man, and an adulterous elder lacking understanding.
3
If you gathered nothing in youth, how shall you find anything in old age?
4
How beautiful is sound judgment in gray hair, and for elders to recognize counsel.
5
How beautiful is Wisdom in the aged, and thought and counsel in honored ones.
6
The crown of elders is abundant experience, and their boast is reverence of Yahuah.
7
Nine thoughts I called blessed in my heart, and a tenth I shall speak upon my tongue: an Adam rejoicing over children, and one who lives to see the fall of enemies;
8
blessed is one dwelling with an ishah who understands, one who has not slipped with the tongue, and one who has not served an unworthy master;
9
blessed is one who found discernment and one who recounts into listening ears;
10
how great is one who found Wisdom! Yet none is above one who reveres Yahuah.
11
Reverence of Yahuah surpasses everything; to whom can one holding it be compared?
12
Reverence of Yahuah is the beginning of loving Him, and trust is the beginning of clinging to Him.
13
Any wound—but not a wound of the heart; any evil—but not the evil of an ishah.
14
Any visitation—but not a visitation from haters; any vengeance—but not the vengeance of enemies.
15
There is no head above the head of a serpent, and no wrath above the wrath of an enemy.
16
I would rather dwell with a lion and a dragon than dwell with an evil ishah.
17
The evil of an ishah changes her appearance and darkens her face like a bear.
18
Her husband sits down among his neighbors and involuntarily groans bitterly.
19
Every evil is small beside the evil of an ishah; may the portion of a sinner fall upon her.
20
A sandy ascent beneath the feet of an elder is like a talkative ishah to a quiet husband.
21
Do not fall because of an ishah’s beauty, and do not desire an ishah.
22
Wrath, shamelessness, and great disgrace arise when an ishah supports her husband.
23
A downcast heart, a gloomy face, and a wounded heart—an evil ishah; slack hands and weakened knees belong to one whose ishah does not call him blessed.
24
From an ishah came the beginning of sin, and because of her we all die.
25
Do not give water an outlet, nor an evil ishah freedom of speech.
26
If she does not walk according to your hand, cut her away from your flesh.
