1
Shim’on son of Yochanan, the Kohen Gadol, repaired the House during his life and strengthened the Temple in his days.
2
By him the double height was founded, a high retaining wall for the Temple enclosure.
3
In his days a reservoir for water was hewn, a basin with a circumference like the sea.
4
He cared for his people against falling and strengthened the city against siege.
5
How he received splendor when he turned toward the people, coming out from the House of the curtain.
6
He was like the morning star amid clouds, like a full moon in its days,
7
like the sun shining upon the Temple of El Elyon, and like a bow giving light within clouds of splendor;
8
like a rose blossom in days of new growth, like lilies beside the outlet of water, like a shoot of Levanon in summer days;
9
like fire and frankincense upon a fire-pan, like a vessel of hammered gold adorned with every precious stone;
10
like an olive tree blossoming with fruit, and like a cypress raised into clouds.
11
When he took up a robe of splendor and clothed himself in the completion of boasting, when he ascended the set-apart slaughter-place, he gave splendor to the enclosure of the set-apart place.
12
When he received the portions from the hands of the Kohenim, he stood beside the hearth of the slaughter-place, with a crown of brothers around him like a cedar shoot in Levanon; they surrounded him like trunks of palm trees.
13
All the sons of Aharon were in their splendor, with the offering of Yahuah in their hands before all the assembly of Yisra’el.
14
He completed the service upon the slaughter-places and ordered the offering of El Elyon Almighty.
15
He stretched his hand over the libation vessel and poured from the blood of the grape; he poured upon the foundations of the slaughter-place a sweet aroma to El Elyon, King of all.
16
Then the sons of Aharon cried aloud; they sounded with hammered trumpets and made a great voice heard as a remembrance before El Elyon.
17
Then all the people together hastened and fell upon their faces to the earth to bow before their Yahuah, the Almighty Elohim Most High.
18
The singers praised with their voices, and the melody was made sweet with abundant sound.
19
The people of Yahuah El Elyon made supplication in prayer before the Compassionate One until the order of Yahuah was completed and they finished His service.
20
Then he descended and raised his hands over all the assembly of the sons of Yisra’el, to give the blessing of Yahuah from his lips and to boast in His Name.
21
They bowed a second time to receive the blessing from El Elyon.
22
Now bless the Elohim of all, who works great things everywhere, who raises our days from the womb and deals with us according to His compassion.
23
May He give us joy of heart and grant shalom in our days in Yisra’el as in the days of the age.
24
May He entrust His compassion with us and redeem us in our days.
25
My being is provoked by two nations, and the third is not a nation:
26
those dwelling on the mountain of Shomron, the Pelishtim, and the foolish people dwelling in Shekhem.
27
Yahushua son of El’azar son of Sirah, the Yerushalayimite, engraved instruction of understanding and knowledge in this Scroll; he poured forth Wisdom from his heart.
28
Blessed is one who dwells within these things; placing them upon his heart, he shall become wise.
29
For if he works them, he shall have strength for all things, because the light of Yahuah is his path.
