10:1
In the third year of Koresh, king of Paras, a word was revealed to Dani’el, whose name was called Belteshatzar. And the word was true, and concerned a great conflict. And he understood the word and had understanding of the vision.
10:2
In those days I, Dani’el, was mourning for three full weeks.
10:3
Pleasant bread I did not eat, and flesh and wine did not enter my mouth. And I did not anoint myself at all until three full weeks were completed.
10:4
And on the twenty-fourth day of the first month, I was beside the bank of the great river, that is, the Chiddeqel.
10:5
And I lifted my eyes and saw, and see— an ish clothed in linen, whose waist was girded with fine gold of Uphaz.
10:6
And his body was like beryl, and his face like the appearance of lightning, and his eyes like torches of fire. And his arms and his feet were like the gleam of polished bronze, and the sound of his words was like the sound of a multitude.
10:7
And I, Dani’el, alone saw the vision. But the men who were with me did not see the vision. Yet a great trembling fell upon them, and they fled to hide themselves.
10:8
And I was left alone and saw this great vision. And no strength remained in me, and my splendor was turned within me into ruin, and I retained no strength.
10:9
And I heard the sound of his words. And when I heard the sound of his words, I fell into a deep sleep upon my face, with my face toward the ground.
10:10
And see— a hand touched me and caused me to tremble upon my knees and the palms of my hands.
10:11
And he said to me: “O Dani’el, ish greatly beloved, understand the words which I speak to you, and stand upright, for I have now been sent to you.” And when he spoke this word to me, I stood trembling.
10:12
Then he said to me: “Do not fear, Dani’el, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand and to humble yourself before your Elohim, your words were heard. And I have come because of your words.
10:13
But the ruler of the kingdom of Paras stood against me twenty-one days. And see— Mikha’el, one of the chief rulers, came to help me, and I remained there beside the kings of Paras.
10:14
And I have come to cause you to understand what shall happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision is yet for days to come.”
10:15
And while he spoke these words with me, I set my face toward the ground and became silent.
10:16
And see— one resembling the sons of Adam touched my lips. Then I opened my mouth and spoke, and said to the one standing before me: “My master, because of the vision my pains have turned upon me, and I retain no strength.
10:17
For how can the servant of this my master speak with this my master? For as for me, from now no strength remains in me, and breath is not left in me.”
10:18
Then again the one having the appearance of Adam touched me and strengthened me.
10:19
And he said: “Do not fear, ish greatly beloved. Shalom to you. Be strong. Yes, be strong.” And as he spoke with me, I was strengthened and said: “Let my master speak, for you have strengthened me.”
10:20
Then he said: “Do you know why I have come to you? And now I shall return to fight with the ruler of Paras. And when I go forth, see— the ruler of Yavan shall come.
10:21
But I shall declare to you what is inscribed in the writing of truth. And there is none who strengthens himself with me against these except Mikha’el, your ruler.”
