Before the final devastation, Eved-Melekh went outside the city to a garden belonging to Agrippa.
He carried figs and provisions, seeking relief from the violence within Yerushalayim.

He lay down and slept.
His sleep was not ordinary, for Yahuah hid him from the years of destruction and exile.
What seemed to him a short rest became the passing of generations.
