1
Then Tzophar the Naamati answered and said:
2
“Shall a multitude of words not be answered? Shall an ish of lips be held righteous?
3
Shall your empty talk cause mighty ones to be silent? Shall you mock with none putting you to shame?
4
For you have said, ‘My teaching is pure, and I am clean in Your eyes.’
5
But if only Eloah would speak and open His lips with you,
6
and declare to you the secrets of wisdom, for sound wisdom has double folds. Then know that Eloah has caused some of your crookedness to be forgotten for you.
7
Can you find the searching of Eloah? Can you find Shaddai unto completion?
8
It is higher than the heavens—what can you do? Deeper than Sheol—what can you know?
9
Its measure is longer than the earth and broader than the sea.
10
If He passes through, shuts up, and gathers, who can turn Him back?
11
For He knows men of emptiness; He sees crookedness, though one does not set it upon the heart.
12
Yet an empty ish becomes wise when a wild donkey’s colt is born as Adam.
13
If you establish your heart and spread your palms toward Him—
14
if trouble is in your hand, put it far away, and do not let crookedness dwell in your tents—
15
then surely you shall lift your face without blemish; you shall be poured firm and shall not fear.
16
For you shall forget trouble; you shall remember it as waters that have passed.
17
Your span of life shall rise brighter than midday; though dark, it shall become like morning.
18
You shall trust because there is hope; you shall search and lie down in security.
19
You shall rest with none causing you to tremble, and many shall plead before your face.
20
But the eyes of the wicked shall be completed; refuge shall perish from them, and their hope shall be the breathing out of the being.”
