1
And Elihu answered and said:
2
“Did you consider this for Judgment? Did you say, ‘My righteousness is more than El’s’?
3
For you ask, ‘What does it profit You? What benefit do I have beyond my sin?’
4
I shall return Words to you and to your companions with you.
5
Look toward the heavens and see; behold the clouds—they are higher than you.
6
If you sin, what do you accomplish against Him? If your transgressions multiply, what do you do to Him?
7
If you are righteous, what do you give Him? Or what does He receive from your hand?
8
Your wickedness is against an ish like you, and your righteousness is for a son of Adam.
9
Because of the abundance of oppressions they cause a cry; they cry for help because of the arm of the great.
10
Yet none says, ‘Where is Eloah my Maker, the One giving songs in the night;
11
the One teaching us more than the animals of the earth and making us wiser than the flying creatures of the heavens?’
12
There they cry, but He does not answer, because of the pride of evil ones.
13
Surely El does not hear emptiness, and Shaddai does not behold it.
14
Even when you say you do not behold Him, Judgment is before His face; therefore wait for Him.
15
And now, because His anger has not visited and He does not greatly know the excess,
16
Iyov opens his mouth in emptiness; without knowledge he multiplies words.”
