1
“Indeed, at this my heart trembles and leaps from its place.
2
Hear attentively the raging of His voice and the rumbling that proceeds from His mouth.
3
He releases it beneath all the heavens, and His light to the wings of the earth.
4
After it a voice roars; He thunders with the voice of His majesty, and He does not restrain them when His voice is heard.
5
El thunders wondrously with His voice, doing great things that we do not know.
6
For He says to the snow, ‘Be upon the earth,’ and to the shower of rain, and to the showers of His mighty rains.
7
He seals the hand of every Adam, so that all the men of His work may know.
8
Then the living creature enters its lair and dwells in its den.
9
From the chamber comes the storm, and cold from the scattering winds.
10
By the breath of El ice is given, and the breadth of waters is constrained.
11
Indeed, with moisture He loads the thick cloud; He scatters His cloud of light.
12
It turns round and round by His guidance, to accomplish all that He commands them upon the face of the inhabited earth.
13
Whether for a rod, or for His land, or for lovingkindness, He causes it to find its place.
14
Give ear to this, Iyov; stand still and consider the wonders of El.
15
Do you know when Eloah appoints them and makes the light of His cloud shine?
16
Do you know the balancing of the cloud, the wonders of the One complete in knowledge?
17
How your garments become warm when He quiets the earth from the south?
18
Can you spread out the skies with Him, strong as a cast mirror?
19
Make known to us what we should say to Him; we cannot arrange our case because of darkness.
20
Should it be recounted to Him that I speak? If an ish speaks, surely he would be swallowed.
21
And now they do not behold the bright light in the skies, until the wind passes and cleanses them.
22
From the north comes golden splendor; upon Eloah is fearsome majesty.
23
Shaddai—we have not found Him out; He is exalted in power. In Judgment and abundant righteousness He does not afflict.
24
Therefore men fear Him; He does not regard any who are wise in heart.”
