1
Then Iyov answered Yahuah and said:
2
“I know that You are able to do all, and no purpose is withheld from You.
3
‘Who is this hiding counsel without knowledge?’ Therefore I declared, but did not understand— wonders beyond me, which I did not know.
4
‘Hear now, and I shall speak; I shall ask You, and You make known to me.’
5
By the hearing of the ear I heard You, but now my eye has beheld You.
6
Therefore I reject and am comforted concerning dust and ashes.”
7
And it came to be, after Yahuah had spoken these Words to Iyov, that Yahuah said to Eliyphaz the Temani, “My anger burns against you and against your two companions, because you have not spoken rightly concerning Me as My servant Iyov has.
8
And now, take for yourselves seven bulls and seven rams, and go to My servant Iyov, and ascend an ascending offering for yourselves. And My servant Iyov shall pray for you, for I shall lift his face, lest I work disgraceful folly with you, because you have not spoken rightly concerning Me as My servant Iyov has.”
9
Then Eliyphaz the Temani, Bildad the Shuhi, and Tzophar the Naamati went and did according to what Yahuah had spoken to them. And Yahuah lifted the face of Iyov.
10
And Yahuah restored the captivity of Iyov when he prayed for his companion. And Yahuah added all that Iyov possessed to double.
11
Then all his brothers and all his sisters and all who had known him before came to him, and they ate bread with him in his house. They mourned with him and comforted him concerning all the evil that Yahuah had brought upon him. And each gave him one qesitah and each one ring of gold.
12
And Yahuah blessed the latter days of Iyov more than his beginning. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, one thousand yoke of cattle, and one thousand female donkeys.
13
And he had seven sons and three daughters.
14
And he called the name of the first Yemimah, and the name of the second Qetziah, and the name of the third Qeren-Happukh.
15
And no women were found as beautiful as the daughters of Iyov in all the earth. And their father gave them an inheritance among their brothers.
16
After this Iyov lived one hundred and forty years, and beheld his sons and his sons’ sons—four generations.
17
And Iyov died, old and satisfied with days.
