Noah found favor because he walked in righteousness amid a corrupted generation. He was warned of the flood and commanded to prepare an ark for his household and the living creatures appointed to survive with him.

When the waters came, the proud strength of that generation could not save it. The ark became a vessel of preservation, and after the waters withdrew Noah gave thanks and received the covenant concerning the earth.
