1
To the Overseer, upon Ayyelet HaShachar. A melody of Daviyd.
2
My El, my El, why have You forsaken me? Far from my Salvation are the words of my roaring.
3
My Elohim, I call by day, but You do not answer; and by night, but there is no silence for me.
4
Yet You are set apart, dwelling within the praises of Yisra’el.
5
In You our fathers trusted; they trusted, and You delivered them.
6
To You they cried and escaped; in You they trusted and were not ashamed.
7
But I am a worm and not an ish, a reproach of Adam and despised by the people.
8
All who see me mock me; they open the lip and shake the head:
9
“Roll yourself upon Yahuah; let Him rescue him. Let Him deliver him, since He delights in him.”
10
For You drew me from the womb; You made me trust upon the breasts of my mother.
11
Upon You I was cast from the womb; from the belly of my mother You are my El.
12
Do not be far from me, for distress is near and there is no helper.
13
Many bulls surround me; mighty ones of Bashan encircle me.
14
They open their mouth against me like a tearing and roaring lion.
15
I am poured out like water, and all my bones are separated. My heart has become like wax; it melts within my inward parts.
16
My strength is dried like a potsherd, and my tongue clings to my jaws; You set me in the dust of death.
17
For dogs surround me; a congregation of evildoers encircles me. Like a lion, they are at my hands and my feet.
18
I count all my bones. They look; they stare at me.
19
They divide my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast a lot.
20
But You, Yahuah, do not be far away. My Strength, hurry to my help.
21
Rescue my being from the sword, my only life from the hand of the dog.
22
Save me from the mouth of the lion; from the horns of wild oxen You have answered me.
23
I recount Your Name to my brothers; in the midst of the assembly I praise You.
24
You who revere Yahuah, praise Him! All Seed of Ya’aqov, honor Him! Stand in awe of Him, all Seed of Yisra’el!
25
For He has not despised nor detested the affliction of the afflicted; He has not hidden His face from him, but when he cried to Him, He heard.
26
From You is my praise in the great assembly. I pay my vows before those who revere Him.
27
The afflicted eat and are satisfied; those who seek Yahuah praise Him. May your heart live forever!
28
All ends of the earth remember and return to Yahuah; all families of nations bow before Your face.
29
For the Kingdom belongs to Yahuah, and He rules among the nations.
30
All the fat ones of the earth eat and bow. Before His face all who descend to dust kneel, even he who cannot keep his being alive.
31
A Seed serves Him; it is recounted of Adonai to the generation.
32
They come and declare His Righteousness to a people yet to be born: He has done it.
