1
A melody of Asaph. Elohim, nations have entered Your Inheritance; they defiled Your set-apart Temple; they set Yerushalayim as ruins.
2
They gave the corpses of Your servants as food to birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your faithful ones to beasts of the earth.
3
They poured their blood like water around Yerushalayim, and there was none to bury.
4
We have become a reproach to our neighbors, mockery and derision to those around us.
5
Until when, Yahuah? Will You be angry forever? Will Your zeal burn like fire?
6
Pour Your wrath upon nations that do not know You and kingdoms that do not call upon Your Name.
7
For they have consumed Ya’aqov and devastated his dwelling.
8
Do not remember against us the crookednesses of former ones. Let Your compassions quickly meet us, for we are brought very low.
9
Help us, Elohim of our Salvation, for the matter of Your Name’s Glory. Rescue us and cover our sins for the sake of Your Name.
10
Why should nations say, “Where is their Elohim?” Let vengeance for the poured blood of Your servants be known among nations before our eyes.
11
Let the groaning of the prisoner come before Your face; according to the greatness of Your arm preserve the sons of death.
12
Return sevenfold into the bosom of our neighbors their reproach with which they reproached You, Adonai.
13
Then we, Your people and sheep of Your pasture, thank You forever; from generation to generation we recount Your praise.
