1
And as they drew near to Nineveh, Rafa’el said to Toviyah: “Brother, you know how you left your father.
2
Let us go ahead before your ishah and prepare the house.
3
And take the gall of the fish in your hand.” And they went ahead together, and the dog followed behind them.
4
Now Channah was sitting, watching the road for her son.
5
And she saw him coming and said to his father: “See, your son is coming, and the ish who went with him.”
6
And Rafa’el said to Toviyah: “I know, brother, that your father will open his eyes.
7
Anoint his eyes with the gall, and when it bites them he will rub them, and the white films will fall away, and he will see you.”
8
Then Channah ran forward and fell upon the neck of her son and said: “I have seen you, my child. From now on I am ready to die.” And she wept.
9
And Toviyt arose and stumbled through the entrance of the courtyard. And Toviyah went toward him with the gall of the fish in his hand.
10
And he blew into his eyes and took hold of him and said: “Take courage, father.” And he applied the medicine to him and let it remain.
11
Then with both hands he peeled the white films from the corners of his eyes.
12
And Toviyt fell upon his neck and wept and said: “I see you, my child, the light of my eyes.”
13
And he said: “Blessed is Elohim, and blessed is His great Name, and blessed are all His holy messengers. May His great Name be upon us, and may all His messengers be blessed forever.
14
For He disciplined me, and see, I now see Toviyah my son.”
15
And Toviyah entered rejoicing and told his father all the great things that had happened to him in Media.
16
Then Toviyt went out toward the gate of Nineveh to meet Sarah his daughter-in-law, rejoicing and blessing Elohim. And those who saw him walking were amazed because he could see.
17
And Toviyt gave thanks before them because Elohim had shown mercy to him. And when he came near to Sarah his daughter-in-law, he blessed her and said: “Come in shalom, my daughter. Blessed is Elohim who has brought you to us, and blessed are your father and your mother.
18
And there was joy among all his brothers who were in Nineveh.
19
And Achiachar and Nadav his kinsman came. And Toviyah’s wedding feast was celebrated with joy for seven days.
