1
Gather yourselves together, yes, gather, O nation without shame,
2
before the decree gives birth, before the day passes like chaff, before the fierce anger of Yahuah comes upon you, before the Day of the Wrath of Yahuah comes upon you.
3
Seek Yahuah, all you humble of the land, who have done His Judgment. Seek Righteousness. Seek humility. Perhaps you shall be hidden in the Day of the Wrath of Yahuah.
4
For Azzah shall be forsaken, and Ashqelon shall become desolation. Ashdod shall be driven out at midday, and Eqron shall be uprooted.
5
Woe to the inhabitants of the coastland, the nation of the Keretim. The Word of Yahuah is against you, Kena’an, land of the Pelishtim: “I will destroy you until no inhabitant remains.”
6
And the coastland shall become pastures, with shelters for shepherds and folds for flocks.
7
And the coastland shall belong to the remnant of the House of Yehudah. There they shall pasture. In the houses of Ashqelon they shall lie down in the evening. For Yahuah their Elohim will visit them and return their captivity.
8
“I have heard the reproach of Moav and the revilings of the sons of Ammon, with which they reproached My People and made themselves great against their border.
9
Therefore, as I live,” declares Yahuah of Hosts, Elohim of Yisra’el, “surely Moav shall become like Sedom, and the sons of Ammon like Amorah— a possession of nettles, a pit of salt, and a desolation forever. The remnant of My People shall plunder them, and the remainder of My nation shall possess them.”
10
This shall come upon them because of their pride, because they reproached and made themselves great against the people of Yahuah of Hosts.
11
Yahuah shall be fearsome against them, for He will make lean all the elohim of the earth. And all the coastlands of the nations shall bow themselves to Him, each ish from his own place.
12
“You also, Kushim, shall be slain by My sword.”
13
And He will stretch out His hand against the north and destroy Ashshur. And He will make Nineveh a desolation, dry like the wilderness.
14
And herds shall lie down in her midst, every beast of a nation. Both the qaat and the qippod shall lodge upon her capitals. A voice shall sing in the window. Desolation shall be at the threshold, for He has laid bare the cedar work.
15
This is the rejoicing city that dwelt securely, that said in her heart: “I am, and there is none besides me.” How she has become a desolation, a resting place for beasts. Everyone who passes by her shall hiss and shake his hand.
