1
Woe to her who is rebellious and defiled, the oppressing city.
2
She did not hear the voice. She did not receive correction. She did not trust in Yahuah. She did not draw near to her Elohim.
3
Her rulers in her midst are roaring lions. Her judges are evening wolves. They leave nothing for the morning.
4
Her prophets are reckless, men of treachery. Her kohenim profane what is holy. They do violence to the Torah.
5
Yahuah is righteous in her midst. He does no crookedness. Morning by morning He brings His Judgment to light. He does not fail. But the crooked knows no shame.
6
“I cut off nations. Their corner towers were desolated. I laid waste their streets, so that none passes through. Their cities were destroyed, without an ish, without inhabitant.
7
I said: ‘Surely you will fear Me. You will receive correction, and her dwelling will not be cut off according to all that I appointed against her.’ But they rose early and corrupted all their deeds.
8
Therefore wait for Me,” declares Yahuah, “until the day I rise for prey. For My Judgment is to gather nations, to collect kingdoms, to pour upon them My indignation, all the heat of My anger. For by the fire of My jealousy all the earth shall be consumed.
9
For then I will turn to the peoples a pure tongue, that all of them may call upon the Name of Yahuah and serve Him with one shoulder.
10
From beyond the rivers of Kush, My worshipers, the daughter of My dispersed, shall bring My offering.
11
In that day you shall not be ashamed because of all your deeds by which you transgressed against Me. For then I will remove from your midst those who rejoice in your pride, and you shall no longer be haughty upon My holy mountain.
12
And I will leave in your midst a humble and lowly people, and they shall take refuge in the Name of Yahuah.
13
The remnant of Yisra’el shall do no crookedness and speak no falsehood, nor shall a deceitful tongue be found in their mouth. For they shall pasture and lie down, and none shall make them afraid.”
14
Sing aloud, daughter of Tziyon. Shout, Yisra’el. Rejoice and exult with all your heart, daughter of Yerushalayim.
15
Yahuah has removed your Judgments. He has turned away your enemy. The King of Yisra’el, Yahuah, is in your midst. You shall no longer fear evil.
16
In that day it shall be said to Yerushalayim: “Do not fear, Tziyon. Let not your hands fall weak.
17
Yahuah your Elohim is in your midst, a mighty One who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will quiet you in His love. He will rejoice over you with singing.”
18
“Those grieving because of the appointed time I will gather— they were from you, the burden of reproach upon her.
19
See, at that time I will deal with all those who afflict you. And I will save the lame, and gather the one driven away. And I will make them a praise and a name in every land where they were put to shame.
20
At that time I will bring you in, and at that time I will gather you. For I will make you a Name and a praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I return your captivity before your eyes,” says Yahuah.
