1
And it came to pass in the sixth year, in the sixth month, on the fifth day of the month, that I sat in my house, and the elders of Yehudah sat before my face. And there the hand of Adonai Yahuah fell upon me.

And I looked, and see, a likeness like the appearance of fire. From the appearance of His loins and downward, fire; and from His loins and upward, something like the appearance of brightness, like the gleam of electrum.

And He stretched out the form of a hand and took me by a lock of my head. And the Ruach lifted me between the earth and the heavens and brought me in visions of Elohim to Yerushalayim, to the entrance of the gate of the inner court that faces north, where was the seat of the image of jealousy that provokes to jealousy.

And see, there was the Glory of the Elohim of Yisra’el, according to the appearance that I had seen in the valley.

And He said to me: “Son of Adam, lift up your eyes now toward the north.” And I lifted up my eyes toward the north. And see, north of the gate of the altar was this image of jealousy at the entrance.

And He said to me: “Son of Adam, do you see what they are doing? The great abominations that the House of Yisra’el is doing here, to cause Me to go far away from My Sanctuary? And you shall yet again see greater abominations.”

And He brought me to the entrance of the court. And I looked, and see, a hole in the wall.
8
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, dig now through the wall.” And I dug through the wall. And see, an entrance.
9
And He said to me: “Go in and see the evil abominations that they are doing here.”
10
And I went in and looked. And see, every form of creeping thing and detestable beast, and all the idols of the House of Yisra’el, engraved upon the wall all around.

And seventy ish from the elders of the House of Yisra’el were standing before them, and Yaazanyahu son of Shafan stood in their midst. And each ish had his censer in his hand, and the fragrance of the cloud of incense was rising.
12
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, have you seen what the elders of the House of Yisra’el are doing in the darkness, each ish in the chambers of his carved images? For they say: ‘Yahuah does not see us. Yahuah has forsaken the land.’”

And He said to me: “You shall yet again see greater abominations that they are doing.”
14
And He brought me to the entrance of the gate of the House of Yahuah that was toward the north. And see, there the women were sitting, weeping for Tammuz.
15
And He said to me: “Have you seen this, son of Adam? You shall yet again see greater abominations than these.”
16
And He brought me into the inner court of the House of Yahuah. And see, at the entrance of the Temple of Yahuah, between the porch and the altar, were about twenty-five ish, with their backs toward the Temple of Yahuah and their faces toward the east. And they were bowing themselves eastward toward the sun.
17
And He said to me: “Have you seen this, son of Adam? Is it a small thing to the House of Yehudah to do the abominations that they do here? For they have filled the land with violence and have returned to provoke Me to anger. And see, they send the branch to their nose.
18
Therefore I also will act in wrath. My eye shall not spare, and I will not have compassion. And though they cry in My ears with a great voice, I will not hear them.”
