1
And the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
2
“And you, son of Adam, lift up a lamentation over Tzor.
3
And say to Tzor, the one dwelling at the entrances of the sea, merchant of the peoples to many coastlands: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Tzor, you have said: “I am perfect in beauty.”
4
Your borders are in the heart of the seas. Your builders have perfected your beauty.
5
From cypress trees of Senir they built all your boards. Cedars from Levanon they took to make a mast for you.
6
From oaks of Bashan they made your oars. Your deck they made of ivory inlaid in cypress from the coastlands of Kittim.
7
Fine linen with embroidered work from Mitzrayim was your sail, to become your banner. Blue and purple from the coastlands of Elishah were your covering.
8
The inhabitants of Tzidon and Arvad were your rowers. Your wise men, Tzor, were within you; they were your pilots.
9
The elders of Geval and its wise men were in you, repairing your seams. All the ships of the sea and their sailors were in you to trade your merchandise.
10
Paras, Lud, and Put were in your army, your men of war. Shield and helmet they hung in you. They gave you your splendor.
11
The sons of Arvad and your army were upon your walls all around, and Gammadim were in your towers. Their shields they hung upon your walls all around. They perfected your beauty.
12
Tarshish was your merchant because of the abundance of all wealth. With silver, iron, tin, and lead they traded for your goods.
13
Yavan, Tuval, and Meshekh were your merchants. With beings of Adam and vessels of bronze they traded your merchandise.
14
From the House of Togarmah they traded horses, war-horses, and mules for your goods.
15
The sons of Dedan were your merchants. Many coastlands were the market of your hand. Ivory tusks and ebony they returned to you as tribute.
16
Aram was your merchant because of the abundance of your works. With emerald, purple, embroidered cloth, fine linen, coral, and rubies they traded for your goods.
17
Yehudah and the land of Yisra’el were your merchants. With wheat of Minnit, and pannag, and honey, and oil, and balm they traded your merchandise.
18
Dammeseq was your merchant because of the abundance of your works and the abundance of all wealth, with wine of Chelbon and white wool.
19
Vedan and Yavan from Uzal traded for your goods. Worked iron, cassia, and cane were among your merchandise.
20
Dedan was your merchant in saddlecloths for riding.
21
Arabia and all the rulers of Qedar were merchants of your hand. With lambs, rams, and male goats they traded with you.
22
The merchants of Sheva and Raamah were your merchants. With the chief of every spice, and with every precious stone, and gold they traded your goods.
23
Charan, Kanneh, and Eden, the merchants of Sheva, Ashshur, and Kilmad were your merchants.
24
These were your merchants in choice things: in garments of blue and embroidered work, in chests of many-colored woven cloth, bound with cords and made secure, among your merchandise.
25
The ships of Tarshish were the carriers of your merchandise. And you were filled and made very heavy in the heart of the seas.
26
Your rowers have brought you into many waters. The east ruach has broken you in the heart of the seas.
27
Your wealth, and your goods, and your merchandise, your sailors and your pilots, those repairing your seams, and those trading your merchandise, and all your men of war who are in you, and all your assembly that is in your midst— they shall fall into the heart of the seas on the day of your fall.
28
At the sound of the cry of your pilots, the open lands shall shake.
29
And all who handle the oar shall descend from their ships. The sailors, all the pilots of the sea, shall stand upon the land.
30
And they shall cause their voice to be heard over you and cry bitterly. And they shall cast dust upon their heads and roll themselves in ashes.
31
And they shall make themselves bald for you and gird themselves with sackcloth. And they shall weep over you with bitterness of being and bitter mourning.
32
And in their wailing they shall lift up a lamentation over you and lament concerning you: “Who was like Tzor, like the one silenced in the midst of the sea?
33
When your goods went out from the seas, you satisfied many peoples. With the abundance of your wealth and your merchandise you enriched the kings of the earth.
34
Now you are broken by the seas in the depths of the waters. Your merchandise and all your assembly have fallen in your midst.
35
All the inhabitants of the coastlands are astonished over you. And their kings are greatly terrified. Their faces are troubled.
36
The merchants among the peoples hiss over you. You have become terrors, and you shall be no more forever.”’”
