1
In the tenth year, in the tenth month, on the twelfth day of the month, the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
2
“Son of Adam, set your face against Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim and prophesy against him and against all Mitzrayim.
3
Speak and say: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am against you, Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim, the great tannin lying in the midst of his rivers, who has said: “My river is mine, and I made it for myself.”
4
And I will place hooks in your jaws and cause the fish of your rivers to cling to your scales. And I will bring you up from the midst of your rivers, with all the fish of your rivers clinging to your scales.
5
And I will cast you into the wilderness, you and all the fish of your rivers. Upon the face of the field you shall fall. You shall not be gathered and shall not be collected. To the beasts of the earth and to the birds of the heavens I have given you for food.
6
And all the inhabitants of Mitzrayim shall know that I am Yahuah, because they were a staff of reed to the House of Yisra’el.
7
When they took hold of you by the hand, you broke and tore open all their shoulder. And when they leaned upon you, you shattered and caused all their loins to shake.
8
Therefore thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am bringing a sword upon you, and I will cut off from you Adam and beast.
9
And the land of Mitzrayim shall become a desolation and a waste. And they shall know that I am Yahuah. Because he said: “The river is mine, and I made it,”
10
therefore see, I am against you and against your rivers. And I will make the land of Mitzrayim utter waste and desolation, from Migdol to Seveneh and as far as the border of Kush.
11
No foot of Adam shall pass through it, and no foot of beast shall pass through it. And it shall not be inhabited forty years.
12
And I will make the land of Mitzrayim a desolation in the midst of desolated lands. And her cities shall be in the midst of ruined cities for forty years. And I will scatter Mitzrayim among the nations and disperse them through the lands.
13
For thus says Adonai Yahuah: At the end of forty years I will gather Mitzrayim from the peoples among whom they were scattered.
14
And I will return the captivity of Mitzrayim and bring them back to the land of Patros, to the land of their origin. And there they shall become a low kingdom.
15
Lower than the kingdoms it shall be, and it shall no longer lift itself above the nations. And I will diminish them, so that they shall no longer rule over the nations.
16
And it shall no longer be the confidence of the House of Yisra’el, bringing their crookedness to remembrance when they turn after them. And they shall know that I am Adonai Yahuah.’”
17
And it came to pass in the twenty-seventh year, in the first month, on the first day of the month, that the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
18
“Son of Adam, Nevukhadnetzar king of Bavel caused his host to serve a great service against Tzor. Every head was made bald, and every shoulder was rubbed bare. Yet neither he nor his host had wages from Tzor for the service that he served against her.
19
Therefore thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am giving to Nevukhadnetzar king of Bavel the land of Mitzrayim. And he shall carry away its multitude, and plunder its plunder, and seize its spoil. And it shall be wages for his host.
20
As his payment for which he served, I have given him the land of Mitzrayim, because they worked for Me,” declares Adonai Yahuah.
21
“In that day I will cause a horn to sprout for the House of Yisra’el, and to you I will give the opening of the mouth in their midst. And they shall know that I am Yahuah.”
