1
The hand of Yahuah was upon me, and He brought me out by the Ruach of Yahuah and caused me to rest in the midst of the valley. And it was full of bones.
2
And He caused me to pass over them all around. And see, there were exceedingly many upon the face of the valley. And see, they were exceedingly dry.
3
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, can these bones live?” And I said: “Adonai Yahuah, You know.”
4
And He said to me: “Prophesy over these bones and say to them: ‘Dry bones, hear the Word of Yahuah.
5
Thus says Adonai Yahuah to these bones: See, I am bringing ruach into you, and you shall live.
6
And I will place sinews upon you, and cause flesh to rise upon you, and cover you with skin, and place ruach within you, and you shall live. And you shall know that I am Yahuah.’”
7
And I prophesied as I was commanded. And as I prophesied, there was a sound. And see, a shaking. And the bones drew near, bone to its bone.
8
And I looked, and see, sinews were upon them, and flesh rose, and skin covered them from above. But there was no ruach in them.
9
And He said to me: “Prophesy to the ruach. Prophesy, son of Adam, and say to the ruach: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Come from the four ruachot, O ruach, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.’”
10
And I prophesied as He commanded me. And the ruach came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet— an exceedingly, exceedingly great host.
11
And He said to me: “Son of Adam, these bones are all the House of Yisra’el. See, they are saying: ‘Our bones are dried, and our hope has perished. We are cut off for ourselves.’
12
Therefore prophesy and say to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am opening your graves, and I will cause you to rise from your graves, My people, and I will bring you to the land of Yisra’el.
13
And you shall know that I am Yahuah when I open your graves and cause you to rise from your graves, My people.
14
And I will place My Ruach within you, and you shall live, and I will cause you to rest upon your own ground. And you shall know that I, Yahuah, have spoken, and I have done it,’ declares Yahuah.”
15
And the Word of Yahuah came to me, saying:
16
“And you, son of Adam, take for yourself one piece of wood and write upon it: ‘For Yehudah and for the sons of Yisra’el joined with him.’ And take another piece of wood and write upon it: ‘For Yosef, the wood of Efrayim, and for all the House of Yisra’el joined with him.’
17
And bring them near, one to the other, for yourself, as one piece of wood. And they shall become one in your hand.
18
And when the sons of your people speak to you, saying: ‘Will you not declare to us what these mean to you?’
19
say to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am taking the wood of Yosef, which is in the hand of Efrayim, and the tribes of Yisra’el joined with him, and I will place them upon it with the wood of Yehudah, and make them one wood. And they shall be one in My hand.’
20
And the pieces of wood upon which you write shall be in your hand before their eyes.
21
And speak to them: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: See, I am taking the sons of Yisra’el from among the nations where they have gone, and I will gather them from all around, and bring them to their own land.
22
And I will make them one nation in the land, upon the mountains of Yisra’el. And one king shall be king over all of them. And they shall no longer be two nations, and they shall no longer be divided into two kingdoms again.
23
And they shall no longer make themselves unclean with their idols, and with their detestable things, and with all their transgressions. And I will save them from all their dwelling places in which they sinned, and I will cleanse them. And they shall be My People, and I shall be their Elohim.
24
And My servant Daviyd shall be King over them, and there shall be one shepherd for all of them. And in My Judgments they shall walk, and My statutes they shall guard and do.
25
And they shall dwell upon the land that I gave to My servant Yaaqov, where your fathers dwelt. And they shall dwell upon it— they, and their sons, and the sons of their sons, forever. And Daviyd My servant shall be their Ruler forever.
26
And I will cut with them a Covenant of Shalom. An Everlasting Covenant it shall be with them. And I will place them and multiply them, and I will place My Sanctuary in their midst forever.
27
And My Dwelling shall be over them. And I shall be their Elohim, and they shall be My People.
28
And the nations shall know that I am Yahuah who sets Yisra’el apart, when My Sanctuary is in their midst forever.’”
