1
And he brought me out to the outer court, by the way toward the north. And he brought me into the chamber that was opposite the separate place and opposite the building toward the north.
2
Before the length of one hundred cubits was the north entrance, and the width was fifty cubits.
3
Opposite the twenty cubits that belonged to the inner court, and opposite the pavement that belonged to the outer court, gallery faced gallery in three levels.
4
And before the chambers was a walkway ten cubits wide inward, a way of one cubit. And their entrances were toward the north.
5
And the upper chambers were shorter, for the galleries took away from them more than from the lower and middle chambers of the building.
6
For they were in three levels and did not have pillars like the pillars of the courts. Therefore the upper chambers were narrowed more than the lower and middle ones from the ground upward.
7
And the wall that was outside, parallel to the chambers toward the outer court, before the chambers, was fifty cubits long.
8
For the length of the chambers that were in the outer court was fifty cubits. And see, before the Temple it was one hundred cubits.
9
And beneath these chambers was the entrance from the east, as one entered them from the outer court.
10
In the width of the wall of the court toward the east, before the separate place and before the building, were chambers.
11
And a way was before their faces, according to the appearance of the chambers that were toward the north. As their length, so was their width. And all their exits, and according to their arrangements, and according to their entrances.
12
And according to the entrances of the chambers that were toward the south was an entrance at the head of the way—the way before the corresponding wall toward the east as one entered them.
13
And he said to me: “The north chambers and the south chambers that are before the separate place— these are the holy chambers where the kohenim who draw near to Yahuah shall eat the most holy things. There they shall place the most holy things: the grain offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering, for the place is holy.
14
When the kohenim enter, they shall not go out from the Holy Place into the outer court unless they leave there their garments in which they minister, for they are holy. And they shall put on other garments, and then they may draw near to what belongs to the people.”
15
And when he had finished measuring the inner House, he brought me out by the way of the gate whose face was toward the east and measured it all around.
16
He measured the east side with the measuring reed: five hundred reeds by the measuring reed all around.
17
He measured the north side: five hundred reeds by the measuring reed all around.
18
He measured the south side: five hundred reeds by the measuring reed.
19
He turned toward the west side and measured: five hundred reeds by the measuring reed.
20
On the four sides he measured it. It had a wall all around: five hundred in length and five hundred in width, to make a distinction between the holy and the common.
