1
And he brought me back by the way of the outer gate of the Sanctuary, whose face was toward the east. And it was shut.
2
And Yahuah said to me: “This gate shall remain shut. It shall not be opened, and no ish shall enter through it, because Yahuah, Elohim of Yisra’el, has entered through it. Therefore it shall remain shut.
3
As for the ruler, because he is ruler, he shall sit in it to eat bread before Yahuah. By the way of the porch of the gate he shall enter, and by its way he shall go out.”
4
And he brought me by the way of the north gate before the face of the House. And I looked, and see, the Glory of Yahuah filled the House of Yahuah. And I fell upon my face.
5
And Yahuah said to me: “Son of Adam, set your heart, and see with your eyes, and hear with your ears all that I speak with you concerning all the statutes of the House of Yahuah and concerning all its Torahot. And set your heart to the entrance of the House with all the exits of the Sanctuary.
6
And say to the rebellious, to the House of Yisra’el: ‘Thus says Adonai Yahuah: Enough for you of all your abominations, House of Yisra’el,
7
in that you brought in sons of foreigners, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in My Sanctuary, to profane My House, when you brought near My bread— fat and blood— and they broke My Covenant because of all your abominations.
8
And you did not guard the charge of My holy things, but you appointed for yourselves keepers of My charge in My Sanctuary.’
9
Thus says Adonai Yahuah: ‘No son of a foreigner, uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, shall enter My Sanctuary, of any son of a foreigner who is in the midst of the sons of Yisra’el.
10
But the Leviim who went far from Me when Yisra’el wandered, who wandered from after Me after their idols, they shall bear their crookedness.
11
Yet they shall be ministers in My Sanctuary, appointed at the gates of the House and ministering to the House. They shall slaughter the ascending offering and the sacrifice for the people, and they shall stand before them to minister to them.
12
Because they ministered to them before their idols and became a stumbling block of crookedness to the House of Yisra’el, therefore I lifted up My hand against them,’ declares Adonai Yahuah, ‘and they shall bear their crookedness.
13
And they shall not draw near to Me to act as kohen to Me, nor draw near to any of My holy things, to the Most Holy things. But they shall bear their shame and their abominations that they committed.
14
Yet I will appoint them keepers of the charge of the House, for all its service and for all that shall be done within it.
15
But the kohenim, the Leviim, the sons of Tzadoq, who guarded the charge of My Sanctuary when the sons of Yisra’el wandered from Me— they shall draw near to Me to minister to Me, and they shall stand before My face to bring near to Me fat and blood,’ declares Adonai Yahuah.
16
‘They shall enter My Sanctuary, and they shall draw near to My Table to minister to Me, and they shall guard My charge.
17
And it shall be when they enter the gates of the inner court, they shall be clothed with linen garments. And no wool shall come upon them while they minister in the gates of the inner court and inward.
18
Linen turbans shall be upon their heads, and linen undergarments shall be upon their loins. They shall not gird themselves with anything that causes sweat.
19
And when they go out to the outer court, to the outer court to the people, they shall remove their garments in which they ministered and leave them in the holy chambers. And they shall clothe themselves with other garments, so that they do not set apart the people with their garments.
20
And they shall not shave their heads, nor let their hair grow wild. Trimming, they shall surely trim their heads.
21
And no kohen shall drink wine when they enter the inner court.
22
And they shall not take for themselves a widow or a divorced woman as ishah. But virgins from the seed of the House of Yisra’el they shall take, or a widow who is the widow of a kohen.
23
And they shall teach My people between holy and common, and between unclean and clean they shall cause them to know.
24
And in a dispute they shall stand for Judgment. According to My Judgments they shall judge it. And My Torahot and My statutes in all My appointed times they shall guard, and My Shabbatot they shall set apart.
25
And they shall not come to a dead being of Adam to become unclean. But for father, or for mother, or for son, or for daughter, for brother, or for sister who has not belonged to an ish, they may become unclean.
26
And after his cleansing they shall count for him seven days.
27
And on the day he enters the Sanctuary, into the inner court, to minister in the Sanctuary, he shall bring near his sin offering,’ declares Adonai Yahuah.
28
‘And it shall be to them for an Inheritance: I am their Inheritance. And you shall give them no possession in Yisra’el. I am their possession.
29
The grain offering, and the sin offering, and the guilt offering— they shall eat them. And every devoted thing in Yisra’el shall be theirs.
30
And the first of all firstfruits of everything, and every contribution of everything, from all your contributions, shall belong to the kohenim. And the first of your kneaded dough you shall give to the kohen, to cause blessing to rest upon your house.
31
No carcass, and nothing torn by beasts, whether from bird or from beast, shall the kohenim eat.’”
