1
Send the lamb to the ruler of the land, from Sela toward the wilderness to the mountain of the daughter of Tziyon.
2
And it shall be, like a wandering bird, a nest driven away, so shall the daughters of Moav be at the crossings of Arnon.
3
“Bring counsel. Make judgment. Set your shadow like night in the midst of noon. Hide the outcasts. Do not betray the fugitive.
4
Let My outcasts dwell with you, Moav. Be a hiding place for them from before the destroyer.” For the oppressor shall come to an end, destruction shall cease, and the one trampling shall be consumed from the land.
5
And a Throne shall be established in Covenant-Faithfulness, and upon it shall sit in truth, in the Tent of Daviyd, one judging, and seeking Judgment, and hastening Righteousness.
6
We have heard of the pride of Moav— exceedingly proud— his arrogance, and his pride, and his wrath; his boastings are not so.
7
Therefore Moav shall wail for Moav; all of it shall wail. For the raisin-cakes of Qir-Chareset you shall mourn, utterly stricken.
8
For the fields of Cheshbon languish, the vine of Sivmah. The masters of nations have struck down its choice branches, which reached as far as Yazer, wandered through the wilderness; its shoots spread abroad and crossed the sea.
9
Therefore I will weep with the weeping of Yazer for the vine of Sivmah. I will drench you with my tears, Cheshbon and Elaleh, for upon your summer fruit and upon your harvest the shout has fallen.
10
And joy and gladness are taken away from the fruitful field. And in the vineyards there is no singing, nor joyful shouting. No treader treads wine in the presses. I have caused the shout to cease.
11
Therefore my inward parts sound like a harp for Moav, and my inward being for Qir-Cheres.
12
And it shall come to pass, when Moav appears, when he wearies himself upon the high place and comes to his sanctuary to pray, that he shall not prevail.
13
This is the Word that Yahuah spoke concerning Moav from that time.
14
And now Yahuah has spoken, saying: “Within three years, as the years of a hired worker, the glory of Moav shall be brought into contempt with all its great multitude. And the remnant shall be very small, few, and without strength.”
