1
Woe to those descending to Mitzrayim for help, who rely upon horses, and trust in chariots because they are many, and in horsemen because they are exceedingly strong; but they do not look to the Holy One of Yisra’el, nor seek Yahuah.
2
Yet He also is wise and brings evil; He does not turn aside His Words. He rises against the house of evildoers and against the help of those working crookedness.
3
Now Mitzrayim is Adam and not El; their horses are flesh and not ruach. When Yahuah stretches out His hand, the helper shall stumble, and the one helped shall fall, and all of them together shall come to an end.
4
For thus Yahuah said to me: “As the lion or the young lion growls over his prey, when a multitude of shepherds is called against him— he is not terrified by their voice nor humbled by their noise— so Yahuah of Hosts shall descend to wage war upon Mount Tziyon and upon its hill.
5
Like birds hovering, so Yahuah of Hosts shall defend Yerushalayim. Defending, He shall rescue; passing over, He shall deliver.”
6
Return to Him from whom the sons of Yisra’el have deeply revolted.
7
For in that day every ish shall reject his idols of silver and his idols of gold, which your own hands made for you as sin.
8
“Then Ashshur shall fall by a sword not of ish, and a sword not of Adam shall consume him. He shall flee from before the sword, and his young men shall become forced labor.
9
His rock shall pass away from terror, and his rulers shall be afraid of the banner,” declares Yahuah, whose fire is in Tziyon and whose furnace is in Yerushalayim.
