1
See, a king shall reign in Righteousness, and rulers shall rule in Judgment.
2
And each ish shall be like a hiding-place from the wind and a shelter from the storm, like streams of water in a dry place, like the shadow of a great rock in a weary land.
3
Then the eyes of those seeing shall not be shut, and the ears of those hearing shall listen.
4
The heart of the hasty shall understand knowledge, and the tongue of the stammerers shall hurry to speak plainly.
5
The fool shall no longer be called noble, nor the deceiver said to be generous.
6
For the fool speaks foolishness, and his heart works crookedness: to practice corruption, to speak error against Yahuah, to empty the being of the hungry, and cause the drink of the thirsty to fail.
7
The instruments of the deceiver are evil. He devises schemes to ruin the poor with words of falsehood, even when the needy speaks Judgment.
8
But the noble devises noble things, and upon noble things he stands.
9
Rise, women who are at ease; hear my voice. Confident daughters, give ear to my speech.
10
Days beyond a year you shall tremble, confident ones, for the grape harvest shall fail; the gathering shall not come.
11
Tremble, women at ease; be disturbed, confident ones. Strip yourselves and make yourselves bare, and gird sackcloth upon your loins.
12
Beat upon the breasts for the pleasant fields, for the fruitful vine,
13
for the ground of my people upon which thorn and brier come up, indeed, for all the houses of joy in the jubilant city.
14
For the palace is abandoned, the multitude of the city forsaken. Hill and watchtower become caves forever, a joy of wild donkeys, a pasture of flocks,
15
until the ruach is poured upon us from on high, and the wilderness becomes a fruitful field, and the fruitful field is considered a forest.
16
Then Judgment shall dwell in the wilderness, and Righteousness shall remain in the fruitful field.
17
And the work of Righteousness shall be shalom, and the service of Righteousness quietness and trust forever.
18
My people shall dwell in a habitation of shalom, in secure dwellings, and in undisturbed resting-places.
19
But hail shall descend upon the forest, and the city shall be brought very low.
20
Favored are you who sow beside all waters, who send out the foot of the ox and the donkey.
