1
At that time Merodakh-Baladan son of Baladan, king of Bavel, sent letters and a gift to Chizqiyahu, for he had heard that he had been sick and had become strong.
2
And Chizqiyahu rejoiced over them and showed them the house of his treasures—the silver and the gold, the spices and the precious oil, all the house of his weapons, and all that was found in his treasuries. There was nothing in his House or in all his rule that Chizqiyahu did not show them.
3
Then Yeshayahu the prophet came to King Chizqiyahu and said to him: “What did these men say? And from where did they come to you?” And Chizqiyahu said, “They came to me from a distant land, from Bavel.”
4
And he said, “What have they seen in your House?” And Chizqiyahu answered, “They have seen all that is in my House. There is nothing among my treasuries that I did not show them.”
5
Then Yeshayahu said to Chizqiyahu: “Hear the Word of Yahuah of Hosts:
6
‘See, days are coming when all that is in your House, and that which your fathers have treasured until this day, shall be carried to Bavel. Nothing shall be left,’ says Yahuah.
7
‘And from your sons who shall come forth from you, whom you shall beget, they shall take; and they shall become eunuchs in the palace of the king of Bavel.’”
8
And Chizqiyahu said to Yeshayahu, “Good is the Word of Yahuah which you have spoken.” And he said, “For there shall be shalom and truth in my days.”
