1
“Be silent before Me, coastlands, and let the peoples renew strength. Let them draw near; then let them speak. Together let us approach for Judgment.
2
Who stirred one from the east, calling him in Righteousness to His foot? He gives nations before his face and causes him to tread upon kings. He gives them like dust to his sword, like driven stubble to his bow.
3
He pursues them and passes in shalom, by a path his feet had not entered.
4
Who has worked and done it, calling the generations from the beginning? I, Yahuah, am the First; and with the last, I am He.”
5
The coastlands saw and feared; the ends of the earth trembled. They drew near and came.
6
Each ish helps his companion and says to his brother, “Be strong.”
7
The craftsman strengthens the goldsmith; the one smoothing with the hammer strengthens the one striking the anvil, saying of the joining, “It is good.” And he strengthens it with nails so it does not shake.
8
“But you, Yisra’el, My servant; Yaaqov, whom I chose; seed of Avraham, My beloved;
9
you whom I took hold of from the ends of the earth, and called from its distant parts, and said to you, ‘You are My servant. I chose you and did not reject you.’
10
Do not fear, for I am with you. Do not look anxiously around, for I am your Elohim. I strengthen you; indeed, I help you; indeed, I uphold you with My righteous right hand.
11
See, all those enraged against you shall be ashamed and humiliated. The men contending with you shall become as nothing and perish.
12
You shall seek them but not find them— the men striving with you. The men warring against you shall become as nothing and as emptiness.
13
For I, Yahuah your Elohim, hold your right hand, saying to you, ‘Do not fear; I Myself help you.’
14
Do not fear, worm Yaaqov, men of Yisra’el. I Myself help you,” declares Yahuah, “and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Yisra’el.
15
See, I have appointed you a sharp new threshing instrument with many teeth. You shall thresh mountains and crush them, and make hills like chaff.
16
You shall winnow them, and the wind shall carry them; the storm shall scatter them. But you shall rejoice in Yahuah; in the Holy One of Yisra’el you shall glory.
17
The poor and needy seek water, but there is none; their tongue is dry with thirst. I, Yahuah, shall answer them. I, the Elohim of Yisra’el, shall not forsake them.
18
I shall open rivers upon bare heights and springs in the midst of valleys. I shall make the wilderness into a pool of water and dry land into sources of water.
19
I shall place in the wilderness cedar, acacia, myrtle, and oil tree. I shall set in the desert cypress, elm, and box tree together,
20
so that they may see and know, consider and understand together, that the hand of Yahuah has done this and the Holy One of Yisra’el has created it.”
21
“Bring near your dispute,” says Yahuah. “Bring forward your strong proofs,” says the King of Yaaqov.
22
“Let them bring them and declare to us what shall happen. Declare the former things—what they were— that we may set our heart upon them and know their outcome; or cause us to hear things coming.
23
Declare the things coming afterward, that we may know you are elohim. Indeed, do good or do evil, that we may gaze and see together.
24
See, you are from nothing, and your work is from emptiness. An abomination is the one choosing you.
25
I stirred one from the north, and he came; from the rising of the sun he calls upon My Name. He shall come upon rulers as upon clay, as a potter treads mortar.
26
Who declared it from the beginning, that we might know; and beforehand, that we might say, ‘He is right’? Indeed, none declares; indeed, none causes it to be heard; indeed, none hears your words.
27
First to Tziyon: ‘See, see them’; and to Yerushalayim I give one bringing good news.
28
But I looked, and there was no ish; and from among these there was no counselor whom I might ask and who would return a word.
29
See, all of them are trouble; their works are nothing. Wind and emptiness are their cast images.”
