1
“See My Servant, whom I uphold; My Chosen One, in whom My being delights. I have placed My ruach upon Him. He shall bring Judgment to the nations.
2
He shall not cry out, nor lift His voice, nor cause it to be heard in the street.
3
A crushed reed He shall not break, and a dimly burning wick He shall not extinguish. In faithfulness He shall bring forth Judgment.
4
He shall not grow dim or be crushed until He establishes Judgment in the earth; and the coastlands shall wait for His Torah.”
5
Thus says El Yahuah, who created the heavens and stretched them out, who spread the earth and that which comes from it, who gives breath to the people upon it and ruach to those walking in it:
6
“I, Yahuah, have called You in Righteousness. I shall take hold of Your hand and guard You. I shall appoint You as a Covenant of the people, as a light of the nations,
7
to open blind eyes, to bring the prisoner from confinement and those dwelling in darkness from the prison house.
8
I am Yahuah; that is My Name. My glory I do not give to another, nor My praise to carved images.
9
See, the former things have come, and new things I declare. Before they spring forth, I cause you to hear them.”
10
Sing to Yahuah a new song, His praise from the end of the earth— you who descend to the sea and its fullness, coastlands and their inhabitants.
11
Let the wilderness and its cities lift their voice, the settlements where Qedar dwells. Let the inhabitants of Sela sing; let them shout from the heads of mountains.
12
Let them give glory to Yahuah and declare His praise in the coastlands.
13
Yahuah goes out like a mighty warrior; like an ish of battle He awakens zeal. He shouts; indeed, He roars. Against His enemies He shows Himself mighty.
14
“I have been silent from ancient time. I have kept still and restrained Myself. Like a woman giving birth I now groan; I gasp and pant together.
15
I lay waste mountains and hills and dry all their vegetation. I turn rivers into coastlands and dry the pools.
16
I shall cause the blind to walk by a way they did not know; in paths they did not know I shall lead them. I shall turn darkness before them into light and crooked places into level ground. These are the Words I shall do for them, and I shall not forsake them.
17
They shall be turned backward, deeply ashamed— those trusting in carved images, those saying to cast images, ‘You are our elohim.’
18
Hear, deaf ones; and blind ones, look to see.
19
Who is blind but My servant, or deaf as My messenger whom I send? Who is blind as the one at shalom with Me, and blind as the servant of Yahuah?
20
You see many things but do not guard them; opening the ears, but he does not hear.
21
Yahuah was pleased for the sake of His Righteousness to magnify Torah and make it glorious.
22
But this is a people plundered and robbed. All of them are trapped in holes and hidden in prison houses. They have become plunder, with none delivering; spoil, with none saying, ‘Return.’
23
Who among you gives ear to this? Who listens and hears for the time afterward?
24
Who gave Yaaqov as spoil, and Yisra’el to robbers? Was it not Yahuah, against whom we sinned? They were not willing to walk in His ways, and they did not hear His Torah.
25
Therefore He poured upon him the fury of His anger and the strength of battle. It set him aflame all around, but he did not know; it burned him, but he did not set it upon his heart.”
