1
Bel bows down; Nevo stoops. Their images are upon beasts and upon livestock. The things you carried are loaded as a burden upon weary animals.
2
They stoop; they bow together. They cannot deliver the burden, and their own being walks into captivity.
3
“Listen to Me, House of Yaaqov, and all the remnant of the House of Yisra’el, who have been carried from the womb and borne from the belly.
4
Even to old age I am He, and even to gray hairs I Myself carry. I made, and I shall bear; I Myself shall carry and deliver.
5
To whom shall you liken Me or make Me equal? To whom shall you compare Me, that we should be alike?
6
Those pouring gold from the bag and weighing silver in the scales hire a goldsmith, and he makes it an el. They fall down; indeed, they bow themselves.
7
They lift it upon the shoulder; they carry it and set it in its place, and it stands. From its place it does not move. Indeed, one cries to it, but it does not answer; from his distress it does not save him.
8
Remember this and show yourselves men. Return it upon your heart, transgressors.
9
Remember the former things from ancient time, for I am El, and there is no other; Elohim, and there is none like Me;
10
declaring the end from the beginning and from ancient time things not yet done; saying, ‘My counsel shall stand, and all My desire I shall do’;
11
calling a bird of prey from the east, from a distant land the ish of My counsel. Indeed, I have spoken; indeed, I shall bring it. I formed it; indeed, I shall do it.
12
Listen to Me, strong of heart, those far from Righteousness.
13
I bring My Righteousness near; it is not far away, and My Salvation shall not delay. I shall appoint Salvation in Tziyon, My glory for Yisra’el.”
