1
“Listen to Me, you who pursue Righteousness, who seek Yahuah. Look to the rock from which you were cut and to the hollow of the pit from which you were dug.
2
Look to Avraham your father and to Sarah who bore you. For he was one when I called him, and I blessed him and multiplied him.
3
For Yahuah shall comfort Tziyon. He shall comfort all her ruins and make her wilderness like Eden and her desert like the Garden of Yahuah. Joy and gladness shall be found in her, thanksgiving and the voice of song.
4
Listen to Me, My people, and give ear to Me, My nation. For Torah shall go out from Me, and My Judgment I shall cause to rest as a light of the peoples.
5
My Righteousness is near; My Salvation has gone out; and My arms shall judge the peoples. Coastlands shall wait for Me, and for My arm they shall hope.
6
Lift your eyes to the heavens and look upon the earth beneath. For the heavens shall vanish like smoke, and the earth wear out like a garment, and its inhabitants die like a gnat. But My Salvation shall be forever, and My Righteousness shall not be shattered.
7
Listen to Me, you who know Righteousness, a people with My Torah in their heart. Do not fear the reproach of enosh, nor be shattered by their insults.
8
For moth shall consume them like a garment, and worm shall consume them like wool. But My Righteousness shall be forever, and My Salvation to generation of generations.”
9
Awake, awake; clothe yourself with strength, arm of Yahuah. Awake as in days of ancient time, generations of ages. Was it not You who cut Rahav, who pierced the sea-monster?
10
Was it not You who dried the sea, the waters of the great deep; who made the depths of the sea a way for the redeemed to pass?
11
And the ransomed of Yahuah shall return and come to Tziyon with shouting, and everlasting joy upon their heads. Gladness and joy shall overtake them; sorrow and sighing shall flee.
12
“I, I am He who comforts you. Who are you, that you fear Adam who dies, and the son of Adam who is given as grass,
13
and forget Yahuah your Maker, who stretched the heavens and founded the earth? You continually tremble all day before the fury of the oppressor as he prepares to destroy. But where is the fury of the oppressor?
14
The one bent in chains shall quickly be released. He shall not die into the pit, nor shall his bread fail.
15
For I am Yahuah your Elohim, who stirs the sea so its waves roar— Yahuah of Hosts is His Name.
16
I have placed My Words in your mouth and covered you in the shadow of My hand, to plant the heavens and found the earth, and to say to Tziyon, ‘You are My people.’”
17
Awaken yourself; awaken yourself. Rise, Yerushalayim, you who drank from the hand of Yahuah the cup of His fury. The bowl of the cup of staggering you drank; you drained.
18
There is none leading her among all the sons she bore; none taking her by the hand among all the sons she raised.
19
These two have met you— who shall show grief for you? Destruction and fracture, famine and sword— who shall comfort you?
20
Your sons fainted; they lie at the head of every street like an antelope in a net, full of the fury of Yahuah, the rebuke of your Elohim.
21
Therefore please hear this, afflicted one, drunk but not from wine.
22
Thus says your Adonai, Yahuah, and your Elohim who contends for His people: “See, I have taken from your hand the cup of staggering, the bowl of the cup of My fury. You shall not continue drinking it again.
23
I shall place it into the hand of those tormenting you, who said to your being, ‘Bow down, that we may pass over.’ And you made your back like the ground and like a street for those passing.”
