1
If only You would tear the heavens and descend, so that mountains would shake before Your face,
2
as fire kindles brushwood and fire causes waters to boil, to make Your Name known to Your adversaries, so that nations tremble before Your face.
3
When You did fearful deeds we did not expect, You descended; mountains shook before Your face.
4
From ancient time they have not heard, nor perceived by the ear; no eye has seen an Elohim besides You, who acts for the one waiting for Him.
5
You meet the one rejoicing and doing Righteousness, those remembering You in Your ways. See, You were furious, and we sinned; in them is continuance, and we shall be saved.
6
And all of us have become like an unclean one, and all our righteous deeds like a garment of menstruation. All of us fade like a leaf, and our crookedness carries us away like the wind.
7
And there is no one calling upon Your Name, stirring himself to take hold of You. For You have hidden Your face from us and caused us to melt by the hand of our crookedness.
8
But now, Yahuah, You are our Father. We are the clay, and You are our Former; all of us are the work of Your hand.
9
Do not be furious exceedingly, Yahuah, and do not remember crookedness forever. See, look now— all of us are Your people.
10
Your set-apart cities have become a wilderness; Tziyon has become a wilderness, Yerushalayim a desolation.
11
Our set-apart and beautiful House, where our fathers praised You, has been burned with fire, and all our precious things have become ruins.
12
Over these shall You restrain Yourself, Yahuah? Shall You remain silent and afflict us exceedingly?
