1
Thus says Yahuah: “The heavens are My throne, and the earth is the footstool of My feet. Where is this House you would build for Me? And where is this place of My rest?
2
For My hand made all these, and all these came to be,” declares Yahuah. “But to this one I shall look: to the lowly and stricken of ruach, who trembles at My Word.
3
The one slaughtering an ox is as one striking an ish; the one sacrificing a lamb, as one breaking a dog’s neck; the one bringing a grain offering, as swine’s blood; the one making a memorial of frankincense, as one favoring an idol. Indeed, they have chosen their own ways, and their being delights in their abominations.
4
I also shall choose their mistreatments and bring upon them what they dread; because I called, but no one answered; I spoke, but they did not hear. They did evil in My eyes and chose that in which I did not delight.”
5
Hear the Word of Yahuah, you who tremble at His Word: “Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for the sake of My Name, have said, ‘Let Yahuah be glorified, that we may see your joy.’ But they shall be ashamed.”
6
A voice of tumult from the city, a voice from the House, the voice of Yahuah repaying His enemies their deed.
7
Before she labored, she gave birth; before pain came to her, she delivered a male.
8
Who has heard such a thing? Who has seen things like these? Shall a land be brought forth in one day? Shall a nation be born at one time? For as soon as Tziyon labored, she gave birth to her sons.
9
“Shall I bring to the opening and not cause birth?” says Yahuah. “Or shall I who cause birth restrain it?” says your Elohim.
10
Rejoice with Yerushalayim and exult in her, all who love her. Rejoicing, rejoice with her, all who mourn over her,
11
so that you may nurse and be satisfied from the breast of her consolations; so that you may drain and delight yourselves from the abundance of her glory.
12
For thus says Yahuah: “See, I extend shalom to her like a river, and the glory of nations like an overflowing wadi. You shall nurse; upon the side you shall be carried, and upon the knees you shall be delighted.
13
As an ish whom his mother comforts, so I shall comfort you; and in Yerushalayim you shall be comforted.”
14
And you shall see, and your heart shall rejoice, and your bones shall flourish like grass. The hand of Yahuah shall be known toward His servants, and He shall show indignation toward His enemies.
15
For see, Yahuah comes with fire, and His chariots like a storm wind, to return His fury with heat and His rebuke with flames of fire.
16
For by fire and by His sword Yahuah shall enter Judgment with all flesh; and many shall be those pierced by Yahuah.
17
“Those setting themselves apart and purifying themselves for the gardens, following one in the midst, eating flesh of swine, the abomination, and the mouse— together they shall come to an end,” declares Yahuah.
18
“And I—their works and their thoughts— it is coming to gather all nations and tongues. And they shall come and see My glory.
19
I shall set a sign among them and send survivors from them to the nations: Tarshiysh, Pul, and Lud, who draw the bow; Tuval and Yavan, and the distant coastlands that have not heard My report nor seen My glory. And they shall declare My glory among the nations.
20
And they shall bring all your brothers from all the nations as a grain offering to Yahuah— upon horses, in chariots, in wagons, upon mules, and upon swift beasts— to My set-apart mountain Yerushalayim,” says Yahuah, “as the sons of Yisra’el bring the grain offering in a clean vessel to the House of Yahuah.
21
And from them also I shall take for Kohenim and for Lewi’im,” says Yahuah.
22
“For as the new heavens and the new earth that I make shall stand before My face,” declares Yahuah, “so your seed and your name shall stand.
23
And it shall be: from new moon to its new moon, and from Shabbat to its Shabbat, all flesh shall come to bow before My face,” says Yahuah.
24
“And they shall go out and look upon the corpses of the men who transgressed against Me. For their worm shall not die, and their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall become an abhorrence to all flesh.”
