1
“At that time,” declares Yahuah, “they shall bring out the bones of the sovereigns of Yehudah, the bones of its rulers, the bones of the Kohenim, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim from their graves.
2
And they shall spread them before the sun, the moon, and all the host of the heavens, which they loved, which they served, after which they walked, which they sought, and to which they bowed themselves. They shall not be gathered or buried; they shall become dung upon the face of the ground.
3
And death shall be chosen over life by all the remnant remaining from this evil family, in all the remaining places to which I have driven them,” declares Yahuah of Hosts.
4
“And you shall say to them, ‘Thus says Yahuah: Do they fall and not rise? Does one turn away and not return?
5
Why has this people, Yerushalayim, turned away in an enduring turning-away? They hold firmly to deceit; they refuse to return.
6
I listened and heard: they do not speak rightly. No ish relents over his evil, saying, “What have I done?” Everyone turns in his course like a horse rushing into battle.
7
Even the stork in the heavens knows her appointed times; and the turtledove, the swift, and the crane guard the time of their coming. But My people do not know the Judgment of Yahuah.
8
How can you say, “We are wise, and the Torah of Yahuah is with us”? Surely, see, the lying pen of the scribes has made it into falsehood.
9
The wise are ashamed; they are shattered and captured. See, they rejected the Word of Yahuah, so what wisdom is in them?
10
Therefore I shall give their women to others, their fields to inheritors. For from the smallest even to the greatest, every one cuts gain; from prophet even to Kohen, every one does falsehood.
11
And they heal the fracture of the daughter of My people lightly, saying, “Shalom, shalom,” when there is no shalom.
12
Were they ashamed when they did an abomination? They were not ashamed at all; they did not know how to be humiliated. Therefore they shall fall among those who fall; in the time of their visitation they shall stumble,’” says Yahuah.
13
“Gathering, I shall gather them,” declares Yahuah. “There shall be no grapes on the vine and no figs on the fig tree; even the leaf shall wither. What I gave them shall pass over them.”
14
Why are we sitting? Gather yourselves, and let us enter the fortified cities and become silent there. For Yahuah our Elohim has caused us to be silent and has given us poisoned water to drink, because we have sinned against Yahuah.
15
Waiting for shalom, but there is no good; for a time of healing, but see—terror.
16
From Dan the snorting of his horses is heard. At the voice of the neighing of his mighty ones, all the earth trembles. They come and devour the land and its fullness, the city and those dwelling in it.
17
“For see, I am sending among you serpents, vipers that cannot be charmed, and they shall bite you,” declares Yahuah.
18
My relief in grief— my heart is sick within me.
19
See, the voice of the cry of the daughter of my people from a distant land: “Is Yahuah not in Tziyon? Is her Sovereign not in her?” “Why have they provoked Me with their carved images, with foreign vanities?”
20
The harvest has passed; the summer has ended; and we have not been saved.
21
For the fracture of the daughter of my people, I am fractured. I have grown dark; horror has seized me.
22
Is there no balm in Gilad? Is there no healer there? Why then has the healing of the daughter of my people not risen?
