The Word that came to Yirmeyahu from Yahuah when Sovereign Tzidqiyahu sent to him Pashchur son of Malkiyahu and Tzephanyahu son of Maaseyahu, the Kohen, saying,

“Please inquire of Yahuah for us, for Nevukhadretztzar sovereign of Bavel fights against us. Perhaps Yahuah shall deal with us according to all His wonders, and cause him to ascend away from us.”

Then Yirmeyahu said to them, “Thus you shall say to Tzidqiyahu:

‘Thus says Yahuah, Elohim of Yisra’el: See, I am turning back the instruments of battle that are in your hands, with which you fight the sovereign of Bavel and the Kasdim who besiege you outside the wall; and I shall gather them into the midst of this city.
5
And I Myself shall fight against you with an outstretched hand and a strong arm, in anger, in fury, and in great wrath.
6
And I shall strike the inhabitants of this city, both Adam and beast; by a great pestilence they shall die.
7
And afterward,’ declares Yahuah, ‘I shall give Tzidqiyahu sovereign of Yehudah, his servants, the people, and those remaining in this city from pestilence, sword, and famine, into the hand of Nevukhadretztzar sovereign of Bavel, into the hand of their enemies and into the hand of those seeking their being. He shall strike them with the edge of the sword. He shall not spare them or have compassion or mercy.’

And to this people you shall say: ‘Thus says Yahuah: See, I am setting before your faces the Way of life and the way of death.

The one dwelling in this city shall die by sword, famine, and pestilence. But the one going out and falling to the Kasdim who besiege you shall live, and his being shall become his spoil.
10
For I have set My face against this city for evil and not for good,’ declares Yahuah. ‘It shall be given into the hand of the sovereign of Bavel, and he shall burn it with fire.’

And concerning the House of the sovereign of Yehudah: Hear the Word of Yahuah.

House of Daviyd, thus says Yahuah: ‘Judge Judgment in the morning, and deliver the robbed from the hand of the oppressor, lest My fury go forth like fire and burn with none to quench it, because of the evil of your deeds.
13
See, I am against you, inhabitant of the valley, rock of the plain,’ declares Yahuah, ‘you who say, “Who shall descend against us? Who shall enter our dwellings?”
14
But I shall visit you according to the fruit of your deeds,’ declares Yahuah. ‘And I shall kindle a fire in her forest, and it shall devour all around her.’”
