1
The Word that came to Yirmeyahu from Yahuah, saying,
2
“Thus says Yahuah, Elohim of Yisra’el: Write for yourself in a scroll all the Words that I have spoken to you.
3
For see, days are coming,” declares Yahuah, “when I shall return the captivity of My people Yisra’el and Yehudah,” says Yahuah, “and I shall return them to the land that I gave to their fathers, and they shall possess it.”
4
And these are the Words that Yahuah spoke concerning Yisra’el and concerning Yehudah:
5
“For thus says Yahuah: A voice of trembling we have heard— fear, and there is no shalom.
6
Ask now and see: Does a male give birth? Why have I seen every male with his hands upon his loins like an ishah laboring in birth, and every face turned pale?
7
Woe, for that day is great, and there is none like it. It is a time of distress for Yaaqov, yet he shall be saved from it.
8
And it shall be in that day,” declares Yahuah of Hosts, “I shall break his yoke from upon your neck and tear away your bonds, and strangers shall no longer make him serve.
9
But they shall serve Yahuah their Elohim and Daviyd their sovereign, whom I shall raise for them.
10
And you, do not fear, My servant Yaaqov,” declares Yahuah, “and do not be shattered, Yisra’el. For see, I am saving you from afar and your seed from the land of their captivity. Yaaqov shall return and be quiet and at ease, with no one causing fear.
11
For I am with you,” declares Yahuah, “to save you. Though I make a complete end of all the nations to which I scattered you, yet of you I shall not make a complete end. I shall correct you in Judgment, and holding innocent, I shall not hold you innocent.
12
For thus says Yahuah: ‘Your fracture is incurable; your wound is grievous.
13
There is no one pleading your cause for healing; medicines for restoration—there are none for you.
14
All your lovers have forgotten you; they do not seek you. For I struck you with the blow of an enemy, with the correction of a cruel one, because of the multitude of your crookedness, because your sins became strong.
15
Why do you cry over your fracture? Your pain is incurable. Because of the multitude of your crookedness, because your sins became strong, I did these to you.
16
Therefore all who devour you shall be devoured, and all your adversaries, all of them, shall go into captivity. Those plundering you shall become plunder, and all preying upon you I shall give as prey.
17
For I shall cause restoration to rise for you and heal you from your wounds,’ declares Yahuah, ‘because they called you an outcast: “She is Tziyon, whom no one seeks.”’
18
Thus says Yahuah: ‘See, I am returning the captivity of the tents of Yaaqov and shall have compassion upon his dwellings. The city shall be built upon its mound, and the palace shall dwell according to its Judgment.
19
And from them thanksgiving shall go forth, and the voice of those rejoicing. I shall multiply them, and they shall not become small; I shall glorify them, and they shall not become insignificant.
20
His sons shall become as in former time, and his assembly shall be established before My face; and I shall visit all his oppressors.
21
His mighty one shall be from him, and his ruler shall go forth from his midst. I shall bring him near, and he shall approach Me. For who is this who pledged his heart to approach Me?’ declares Yahuah.
22
‘And you shall become My people, and I shall become your Elohim.’”
23
See, the storm wind of Yahuah—fury has gone forth, a sweeping storm. It shall whirl upon the head of the wicked.
24
The burning anger of Yahuah shall not turn back until He has done and until He has established the purposes of His heart. In the latter days you shall understand it.
