1
The burden of the Word of Yahuah concerning Yisra’el. Thus declares Yahuah, who stretches out the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the ruach of Adam within him:
2
“See, I am making Yerushalayim a cup of trembling to all the peoples around her. And also against Yehudah it shall be in the siege against Yerushalayim.
3
And it shall be in that day that I will make Yerushalayim a burdensome stone for all the peoples. All who lift it shall surely be cut, and all the nations of the earth shall be gathered against her.
4
In that day,” declares Yahuah, “I will strike every horse with bewilderment and its rider with madness. But upon the House of Yehudah I will open My eyes, and every horse of the peoples I will strike with blindness.
5
And the clans of Yehudah shall say in their heart: ‘The inhabitants of Yerushalayim are strength for me through Yahuah of Hosts, their Elohim.’
6
In that day I will make the clans of Yehudah like a basin of fire among wood, and like a torch of fire among sheaves. And they shall consume all the surrounding peoples, on the right and on the left. And Yerushalayim shall again dwell in her own place, in Yerushalayim.
7
And Yahuah shall save the tents of Yehudah first, so that the glory of the House of Daviyd and the glory of the inhabitants of Yerushalayim shall not be exalted over Yehudah.
8
In that day Yahuah shall shield the inhabitants of Yerushalayim. And the one stumbling among them in that day shall be like Daviyd. And the House of Daviyd shall be like Elohim, like the messenger of Yahuah before their face.
9
And it shall be in that day that I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Yerushalayim.
10
And I will pour out upon the House of Daviyd and upon the inhabitants of Yerushalayim a Ruach of Favor and Supplications. And they shall look toward Me, whom they pierced, and they shall mourn over him as one mourns over an only son, and they shall grieve bitterly over him as one grieves bitterly over a firstborn.
11
In that day the mourning in Yerushalayim shall be great, like the mourning of Hadad-Rimmon in the Valley of Megiddo.
12
And the land shall mourn, family by family apart: the family of the House of Daviyd apart, and their women apart; the family of the house of Natan apart, and their women apart;
13
the family of the house of Levi apart, and their women apart; the family of Shimi apart, and their women apart;
14
all the families that remain, each family apart, and their women apart.
