1
And Mosheh was shepherding the flock of Yitro his father-in-law, kohen of Midyan. And he led the flock beyond the wilderness and came to the mountain of Elohim, to Chorev.
2
And the messenger of Yahuah appeared to him in a flame of fire from the midst of a bush. And he looked, and see: the bush was burning with fire, yet the bush was not consumed.
3
And Mosheh said, “Let me turn aside now and see this great sight—why the bush does not burn away.”
4
And Yahuah saw that he turned aside to see. And Elohim called to him from the midst of the bush and said, “Mosheh, Mosheh.” And he said, “See, I am here.”
5
And He said, “Do not draw near here. Remove your sandals from upon your feet, because the place upon which you are standing is holy ground.”
6
And He said, “I am the Elohim of your father, the Elohim of Avraham, the Elohim of Yitzchaq, and the Elohim of Yaaqov.” And Mosheh hid his face, because he feared to look toward Elohim.
7
And Yahuah said, “Seeing, I have seen the affliction of My people who are in Mitzrayim, and I have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sufferings.
8
And I have come down to deliver them from the hand of the Mitzrim, and to bring them up from that land to a good and broad land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Kena’ani, the Chitti, the Emori, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi.
9
And now, see: the cry of the sons of Yisra’el has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Mitzrim oppress them.
10
And now, come. I will send you to Pharaoh, and you shall bring My people, the sons of Yisra’el, out from Mitzrayim.”
11
And Mosheh said to Elohim, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh, and that I should bring the sons of Yisra’el out from Mitzrayim?”
12
And He said, “Because I will be with you. And this shall be the sign for you that I have sent you: when you bring the people out from Mitzrayim, you shall serve Elohim upon this mountain.”
13
And Mosheh said to Elohim, “See, I am coming to the sons of Yisra’el, and I say to them, ‘The Elohim of your fathers has sent me to you.’ And they say to me, ‘What is His name?’ What shall I say to them?”
14
And Elohim said to Mosheh, “Ehyeh Asher Ehyeh.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Yisra’el: Ehyeh has sent me to you.”
15
And Elohim said further to Mosheh, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Yisra’el: Yahuah, Elohim of your fathers, Elohim of Avraham, Elohim of Yitzchaq, and Elohim of Yaaqov, has sent me to you. This is My name perpetually, and this is My remembrance from generation to generation.
16
Go, gather the elders of Yisra’el and say to them, ‘Yahuah, Elohim of your fathers, appeared to me—the Elohim of Avraham, Yitzchaq, and Yaaqov—saying: Visiting, I have surely visited you and what is being done to you in Mitzrayim.
17
And I have said: I will bring you up from the affliction of Mitzrayim to the land of the Kena’ani, the Chitti, the Emori, the Perizzi, the Chivvi, and the Yevusi, to a land flowing with milk and honey.’
18
And they shall listen to your voice. And you shall come, you and the elders of Yisra’el, to the king of Mitzrayim, and you shall say to him, ‘Yahuah, Elohim of the Ivrim, has met with us. And now, please let us go a journey of three days into the wilderness, that we may sacrifice to Yahuah our Elohim.’
19
But I know that the king of Mitzrayim will not permit you to go, not even by a strong hand.
20
And I will stretch out My hand and strike Mitzrayim with all My wonders that I will do within it. And afterward he will send you away.
21
And I will give this people favor in the eyes of the Mitzrim. And it shall be, when you go, that you shall not go empty.
22
But every woman shall ask from her neighbor and from the woman dwelling in her house vessels of silver, vessels of gold, and garments. And you shall place them upon your sons and upon your daughters, and you shall strip Mitzrayim.”
