1
And Yahuah spoke to Mosheh, saying,
2
“Speak to the sons of Yisra’el, that they turn back and encamp before Pi-Hachirot, between Migdol and the sea, before Baal-Tzefon. Opposite it you shall encamp by the sea.
3
And Pharaoh will say concerning the sons of Yisra’el, ‘They are entangled in the land; the wilderness has closed them in.’
4
And I will strengthen the heart of Pharaoh, and he will pursue after them. And I will be honored through Pharaoh and through all his host, and the Mitzrim shall know that I am Yahuah.” And they did so.
5
And it was told to the king of Mitzrayim that the people had fled. And the heart of Pharaoh and of his servants was turned against the people, and they said, “What is this that we have done, that we sent Yisra’el away from serving us?”
6
And he harnessed his chariot and took his people with him.
7
And he took six hundred chosen chariots, and all the chariots of Mitzrayim, with officers over all of them.
8
And Yahuah strengthened the heart of Pharaoh king of Mitzrayim, and he pursued after the sons of Yisra’el. And the sons of Yisra’el were going out with a high hand.
9
And the Mitzrim pursued after them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, and his horsemen, and his host, and overtook them encamped by the sea, beside Pi-Hachirot, before Baal-Tzefon.
10
And Pharaoh drew near, and the sons of Yisra’el lifted their eyes, and see: Mitzrayim was marching after them. And they feared exceedingly, and the sons of Yisra’el cried out to Yahuah.
11
And they said to Mosheh, “Was it because there were no graves in Mitzrayim that you took us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us, bringing us out from Mitzrayim?
12
Is this not the word that we spoke to you in Mitzrayim, saying, ‘Leave us alone, that we may serve the Mitzrim’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Mitzrim than to die in the wilderness.”
13
And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not fear. Stand firm and see the deliverance of Yahuah, which He will do for you today. For the Mitzrim whom you see today, you shall never see them again.
14
Yahuah will fight for you, and you shall be still.”
15
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Why do you cry out to Me? Speak to the sons of Yisra’el, that they move forward.
16
And you, lift up your staff and stretch out your hand over the sea and divide it, and the sons of Yisra’el shall go into the midst of the sea upon dry ground.
17
And I, see: I will strengthen the hearts of the Mitzrim, and they shall go in after them. And I will be honored through Pharaoh and through all his host, through his chariots and through his horsemen.
18
And the Mitzrim shall know that I am Yahuah, when I am honored through Pharaoh, through his chariots, and through his horsemen.”
19
And the messenger of Elohim, who was going before the camp of Yisra’el, moved and went behind them. And the pillar of cloud moved from before their face and stood behind them.
20
And it came between the camp of Mitzrayim and the camp of Yisra’el. And there was the cloud and the darkness, yet it gave light by night, and the one did not draw near to the other all the night.
21
And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea, and Yahuah caused the sea to go back by a strong east wind all the night, and He made the sea into dry ground, and the waters were divided.
22
And the sons of Yisra’el went into the midst of the sea upon the dry ground, and the waters were a wall for them on their right hand and on their left.
23
And the Mitzrim pursued and went in after them into the midst of the sea—all the horses of Pharaoh, his chariots, and his horsemen.
24
And it came to pass in the morning watch that Yahuah looked down upon the camp of Mitzrayim through the pillar of fire and cloud, and He threw the camp of Mitzrayim into confusion.
25
And He caused the wheels of their chariots to come off and made them drive with difficulty. And the Mitzrim said, “Let us flee from before Yisra’el, for Yahuah is fighting for them against Mitzrayim.”
26
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Stretch out your hand over the sea, and the waters shall return upon the Mitzrim, upon their chariots, and upon their horsemen.”
27
And Mosheh stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned toward its strength as morning appeared. And the Mitzrim fled toward it, and Yahuah shook the Mitzrim off into the midst of the sea.
28
And the waters returned and covered the chariots and the horsemen, all the host of Pharaoh that had gone after them into the sea. Not even one of them remained.
29
But the sons of Yisra’el walked upon dry ground in the midst of the sea, and the waters were a wall for them on their right hand and on their left.
30
And Yahuah delivered Yisra’el that day from the hand of the Mitzrim, and Yisra’el saw the Mitzrim dead upon the shore of the sea.
31
And Yisra’el saw the great hand that Yahuah had done against Mitzrayim. And the people feared Yahuah, and they believed in Yahuah and in Mosheh His servant.
