1
And Elohim spoke all these words, saying,
2
“I am Yahuah your Elohim, who brought you out from the land of Mitzrayim, from the house of servitude.
3
You shall have no other elohim before My face.
4
You shall not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of what is in the heavens above, or what is in the earth beneath, or what is in the waters beneath the earth.
5
You shall not bow yourself to them, and you shall not serve them, for I, Yahuah your Elohim, am a jealous El, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and to the fourth generation of those who hate Me,
6
but showing covenant-faithfulness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commandments.
7
You shall not lift up the name of Yahuah your Elohim for emptiness, for Yahuah will not hold guiltless the one who lifts up His name for emptiness.
8
Remember the Shabbat day, to set it apart.
9
Six days you shall serve and do all your work,
10
but the seventh day is Shabbat to Yahuah your Elohim. You shall not do any work—you, or your son, or your daughter, your male servant, or your female servant, or your beast, or your sojourner who is within your gates.
11
For in six days Yahuah made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them, and He rested on the seventh day. Therefore Yahuah blessed the Shabbat day and set it apart.
12
Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be prolonged upon the land that Yahuah your Elohim is giving you.
13
You shall not murder.
14
You shall not commit adultery.
15
You shall not steal.
16
You shall not answer against your neighbor as a false witness.
17
You shall not covet the house of your neighbor. You shall not covet the ishah of your neighbor, or his male servant, or his female servant, or his ox, or his donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.”
18
And all the people were seeing the thunderings, and the flashes of lightning, and the voice of the shofar, and the mountain smoking. And the people saw, and they trembled and stood at a distance.
19
And they said to Mosheh, “You speak with us, and we will listen. But do not let Elohim speak with us, lest we die.”
20
And Mosheh said to the people, “Do not fear, for Elohim has come in order to test you, and so that His fear may be before your faces, that you may not sin.”
21
And the people stood at a distance, but Mosheh drew near to the thick darkness where Elohim was.
22
And Yahuah said to Mosheh, “Thus you shall say to the sons of Yisra’el: ‘You yourselves have seen that from the heavens I spoke with you.
23
You shall not make alongside Me elohim of silver, and elohim of gold you shall not make for yourselves.
24
An altar of earth you shall make for Me, and you shall sacrifice upon it your ascending offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your cattle. In every place where I cause My name to be remembered, I will come to you and bless you.
25
And if you make for Me an altar of stones, you shall not build it from cut stones, for if you raise your tool upon it, you profane it.
26
And you shall not go up by steps to My altar, so that your nakedness may not be uncovered upon it.”
