1
And Daviyd said, “Is there still anyone who remains from the House of Shaul, that I may deal with him in Covenant-Faithfulness for the sake of Yonatan?”
2
And there was a servant of the House of Shaul, and his name was Tziva. And they called him to Daviyd. And the king said to him, “Are you Tziva?” And he said, “Your servant.”
3
And the king said, “Is there no longer any ish from the House of Shaul, that I may do with him the Covenant-Faithfulness of Elohim?” And Tziva said to the king, “There is still a son of Yonatan, crippled in both feet.”
4
And the king said to him, “Where is he?” And Tziva said to the king, “See, he is in the house of Makhir son of Ammiel, in Lo-Devar.”
5
And King Daviyd sent and took him from the house of Makhir son of Ammiel, from Lo-Devar.
6
And Mefivoshet son of Yonatan, son of Shaul, came to Daviyd and fell upon his face and bowed himself. And Daviyd said, “Mefivoshet.” And he said, “See, your servant.”
7
And Daviyd said to him, “Do not fear, for dealing, I will surely deal with you in Covenant-Faithfulness for the sake of Yonatan your father. And I will restore to you all the field of Shaul your father, and you shall eat bread at my table continually.”
8
And he bowed himself and said, “What is your servant, that you have turned toward a dead dog such as I?”
9
And the king called Tziva, servant of Shaul, and said to him, “All that belonged to Shaul and to all his House, I have given to the son of your master.
10
And you shall work the land for him—you, and your sons, and your servants—and you shall bring in its produce, that the son of your master may have bread to eat. But Mefivoshet, son of your master, shall eat bread continually at my table.” And Tziva had fifteen sons and twenty servants.
11
And Tziva said to the king, “According to all that my master the king commands his servant, so your servant shall do.” And Mefivoshet ate at the table of Daviyd as one of the sons of the king.
12
And Mefivoshet had a young son, and his name was Mikha. And all who dwelt in the house of Tziva were servants to Mefivoshet.
13
And Mefivoshet dwelt in Yerushalayim, for continually he ate at the table of the king. And he was crippled in both his feet.
