1
Upon my bed in the nights I sought the one whom my being loves. I sought him, but I did not find him.
2
“I will rise now and go about the city, through the streets and through the squares. I will seek the one whom my being loves.” I sought him, but I did not find him.
3
The watchmen who go about the city found me. “Have you seen the one whom my being loves?”
4
Scarcely had I passed from them when I found the one whom my being loves. I took hold of him and would not let him go until I brought him into the house of my mother, and into the chamber of her who conceived me.
5
I adjure you, O daughters of Yerushalayim, by the gazelles and by the does of the field: do not awaken or stir up love until it desires.
6
Who is this coming up from the wilderness like columns of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense, with every powder of the merchant?
7
See, it is the litter of Shəlomah. Sixty mighty men surround it, from the mighty ones of Yisra’el.
8
All of them hold the sword, trained for war, each with his sword upon his thigh because of terror in the night.
9
King Shəlomah made for himself a carriage from the wood of Levanon.
10
Its pillars he made of silver, its support of gold, its seat of purple. Its interior was paved with love by the daughters of Yerushalayim.
11
Go out, O daughters of Tziyon, and see King Shəlomah with the crown with which his mother crowned him on the day of his marriage, and on the day of the gladness of his heart.
